Great day to watch some baseball, as it is the Flames vs the Flames. I watched a couple of innings today and you can sense a different, much more relaxed attitude out there. The hitters seem far ahead of the pitchers, at least as I could tell, as the balls were jumping all over the park (include Nate Thompson's HR). That's understandable as most if not all have been throwing since January and ready for a break. The red team one game one yesterday with a 7th inning rally. The games continue through Sunday, weather permitting.

the balls usually are flying during the series. Like fumble said, the arms are tired and the hitters have been seeing the same pitchers everyday for the past two months. Keep the updates coming with any stats you can get.

Sounds like you might be a former pitcher, fmrflame. I could also say that the pitchers have been seeing the same hitters for two months and should be capable of pitching to their weaknesses. Remember, good pitching usually beats good hitting.

I also am a former flame. I was a position player though. Can ya tell.

Sam has a decent point, in light of the no-no and a shut-out which was thrown in one of the games (BY THE OPPOSING TEAMS). Here is the end of fall recap:
Rusty Lajoie scored the winning run in the top of the eighth inning, and then pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the frame, as the Blue team defeated the Red team, 8-7 in extra innings Sunday. The victory in game five of the Liberty Fall World Series enabled the Blue squad to capture the series three games to two.
also...in an earlier game...
In game three, Red starter Tyler Light (Jr., RHP, San Bernardino, Calif.) needed just 76 pitches in tossing a seven-inning, complete-game shutout. The right-hander faced the minimum 21 batters, allowing three hits, while striking out three and walking none.

Blue starter Chase Vaden (So., LHP, Lynch Station, Va.) and reliever Jimmy Miller (Fr., RHP, Hummelstown, Pa.) combined for a no-hitter in the setback, as the Red squad used back-to-back walks in the fourth inning to push across their runs. Vaden struck out four and walked three in four innings, while Miller struck out one and walked one in two frames of relief.
