HAMPTON - Devon Brown came off the bench for the West all-stars girls basketball team and slowly warmed up for a game-high 17 points.

How she got there made no difference for the former Waynesboro High star. Brown was chosen West MVP as her team pummeled the East squad 98-53 in Tuesday night's VHSCA all-star game at Hampton Coliseum.

I was going to post on this this morning good find Smoothie... Yeah Brown had 17 and was the game MVP. Campbell had 7 Kylee had 8 and campbell had their only 3's. I talked to Campbell last night and she said that it was just a good time and they had a lot of fun and they made their way back to campus at about 2 am to be here for classes today... Even outside of Liberty the other local players (Tharrington and Oliver) had great games as well. They will both be at Richmond and I think it will make a nice little Rivalry between us and them.

In order to have a better season than this past season, one or more of the following would have to happen:
1. Finally beating VT
2. Advancing past the first round of the NCAA tournament
3. Running the table in the conference

I'd say all 3 are possible, provided we remain healthy.

we are no longer playing Virginia Tech. That deal ended after last season. i hear we are in their tournament with the possibility of facing them in the up coming season, but the deal with the home and home series is over between us and VT.

I don't know about you guys, but I've been looking forward to this upcoming season since the buzzer sounded at ODU. It should be fun, and we have a chance to be scary good. With the Frazees, the two Rachels, Rebecca, and the incomers we have depth at every position. We should have 2 solid PG’s, very capable shooters and slashers, plenty of size and lots of experience. I fully expect us to get an even better seed than we did this year, and to get at least one win. Of course that’s if we stay healthy.

This years team looks like it has so much depth even the inevitable ACL tear or 2 won't slow them up.

This is correct, I am assuming that we will be facing them at their tournament.
