Sounds like the Radford game was a slugfest...only good for the girls

Shots just not falling right now for LU. Down by 5 now. Shooting only 25%. Hopefully we can knock some of these shots down. Now down by 7.

Not looking good as turnovers and poor shooting is killing us right now. Down by 9 at the half. Coach Green not happy with the interview. Playing very selfish and not playing good defense.

Playing inspired ball right now. Down by 1 now with ounce was an 11 point deficit. Defensively we are turning it up big time with steal and converting at the other end.

Tied up right now with the free throw from Courtney Watkins.

Right now we are in trouble. Down by 6 with about 3 1/2 minutes to go. Seemed to lose our momentum we had earlier. If we do lose I hope that we can get an auto birth. I certainly would rather not count on that and pull this thing out.

Back to back 3's and we are tied up.

Wow!!! What a finish!!!!! We get the benefit of a traveling call with less than 4 seconds to go and then Megan scores on a hook from the post to win it!!!

We win with Megan's shot at the buzzer. WOW! Jamie Hall is going crazy. What a turn of events. Radford had the ball with 3.5 seconds and gets called for a travel as she was expecting a foul to be called and then we get the ball back and Fasnacht inbounds it to Megan and she hits it at the buzzer. What a game it was.

Megan is Money!!!!!! I was calling that play 10 minutes before they drew it up. I though Radford would go zone though. I kept asking rhetorically is Megan money? The answer is a decided YES!!!!!! Big 2nd half by Courtney Watkins too....I feel bad for Coach Wiley at Radford though. They had that game won and would have been in the big dance. Matt Hogue kept saying the big south could get 3 in post season. Is UNCA automatically in the NIT?

Also the forced travel by Rachel Hammond. Radford wanted a foul but there really wasn't one that I could see.

Wow, amazing finish. Simply amazing. Why didn't we give it to Megan in the previous position when Fasnacht just threw it up?

The RU girl did not get fouled she tripped over her own feet. I watched the play over and over and Rachel never touched her.

I am so glad I got the sports package. Watching that game was so, so worth it!!!!!!

No, UNCA was at the bottom of the league this year, Winthrop may get into the NIT, I believe they have 20 wins as does Radford and of course Liberty. The way he said it made it as if there were 3 teams getting in the big dance which would obviously be wrong. I'm glad we don't have to hope that we make it, now we just get to wait and see what seed we got and who we play.

no foul...i too looked for contact...but there just wasn't any...thats just a call they doesn't often get called...but it was the right one....they did a good job sticking with Radford and not giving up...

I was hoping that it would be on MASN but no such luck as I was content to just listen on the internet. I wonder where we are going to be seeded. I am thinking that we could get a 10 seed at least. That would put us in a great position for a first round win but the second round game would be extremely difficult.

I think the way the NIT works is as follows...

The conference champion from the Big South would automatically get the bid to the NIT if they lost in the tourney.

So, the theory behind 3 teams would have been, Radford winning and geting the Big South (which DID NOT HAPPEN), Liberty getting an at large, and then Winthrop (I think they were #3 going to the NIT).

Now, since LU won...LU is headed to the Big Dance, and Radford to the NIT, is the way I would take it.

That makes sense Jim. Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking UNCA but I should have said Winthrop. That scenerio would have been likely if Radford hadd won. LU would have a good chance of winning the NIT or at least going far. We would have gotten in the NCAA's though with our resume! It would not have been debatable. We were in regardless. Nice to handle our business and start a new streak of big south championships too.

I hope we don't get in the 8-9 game though because then you have to play a 1 seed next. 1 and 2 seeds on the women's side are 100 times better than everyone else so it wouldn't be fun. a 10 seed would be cool.
