Proof there is still a talent gap in the Big South. We beat Xavier (possible A-10 champs), JMU (possible CAA champs), ETSU (A-Sun regular season and tournament champ), NC A&T (MEAC regular season champ), and yet our conference continues to drag us down. I doubt even if we had beaten VT and not lost to Winthrop in the regular season, we'd get an at-large bid should we lose in the conference semis or finals.
Liberty could be an interesting case if the Lady Flames don't win the Big South, but the strength of schedule is weak. The conference just doesn't offer enough competition to make their candidacy for an at-large a strong one.http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/columns/s ... id=3285714
