Tip off is at 2:00, so people in town will need to be leaving in about an hour for the game.

We are up 36-29 at the half. We are getting all the inside looks you could ask for but just aren't finishing well so far. Jamie Hall continues to irritate the daylights out of me by raving on and on about every decent play the opponent makes as if it were Sportscenter material. :blahblah  :guntohead

Just tuned in to the big south edge. The screen is so small but if you go to the full screen it really pixelates.

When a picture's pixels spread out so it looks like the people are ghosts or facsimiles or something.

I thought that we played really cruddy today. Even though GState is No. 13 in NCAA DII , we should have done better. Our bench didn't do much scoring today. I do have to give some kudos to GS, they have great defense for such a small team like theirs. Overall, we did get the win. I'm sure coach will have them working more on their offensive plays. They really made us look bad today. A win is a win, but we'll still need some work. Hopefully this cruddy game with motivate us for the upcoming UNC game...

lets see we play like this at UNC it will be over pretty quickly. GS has some speed and played some great defense. But we should have pounded them though. our defense was suspect today.

Lady Flames Hold Off Glenville State, 66-54

December 15, 2007
Lynchburg, Va.

A 14-0 run early in the second half helped the Liberty women’s basketball team break away from a pesky Glenville State club for a 66-54 victory, Saturday afternoon at the Vines Center. With their seventh-straight victory, the Lady Flames completed a 4-0 homestand.

Liberty moves to 9-1 on the season after outrebounding its outsized opponent, 42-31, and scoring 36 points in the paint. Meanwhile, NCAA Division II Glenville State falls to 3-4 with its fourth-straight loss, despite placing three players in double figures.

I am sure the UNC game is on the girls mind..that is why this could have been a trap game and the 1st game after exams. Bottom line...W is a W and we move on

Hopefully the girls will take care of business at the Las Vegas tournament.

As many as I want to. :nod
I go to a few women's games a year in person along with all of the men's games with the exception of the rare occasion I am working during a game.

And when are you not irritated?

Almost always.
I'm not even really being critical of Jamie overall. I just don't like that one thing and he does it a lot. I personally think he is better at play by play than commentary, and I have previously praised him for mastering the pronunciation of the names of all the Eastern European girls we have had on the team. i also thought the play by play of the men's games in Fresno were, shall we say "more coherant" than usual.

I hope the UNC game is not on their mind yet. They still have 2 games before that one, and they must play better than they did against glenville to win both of those.

By the way, anyone notice UNC beat Coastal last night by about 25 points.

i saw that game online last night. Coastal had a little of a lead for most of the first half and then UNC's defense stepped up and started to force a boat load of turnovers. UNC is definitely not as strong as in years past so it should be interesting when LU plays them in a couple of weeks.

I forgot about the LV tournament. With all this talk on NC, it slipped my mind.

Coach Green is too good of a coach. I think the Glenville game was a perfectly placed game following the exams...better to get the sloppy game and win as opposed to facing NC after a 7 day layoff....

The LV games will have the girls back on track. Hope travel is not a problem for the girls.
Are we back?
