LU with the lead 39-8 on a 30-2 run. Everyone in the game including Alex Bream and Heather Smith. This looks to be a blowout early on.[/b]

Jamie cracks me up the way he always has to say something good about the other team no matter how awful they are. He just referred to the "incredible athleticism and quickness" of VA Union as they are losing 49-13 in the first half.
They made a basket to cut the lead to 34 at the halftime buzzer. "That'll give'm some momentum going into the half."

That athleticism ain't helping their shooting at all as there are shooting 20% and an ofer in 3 point shooting.

Getting ridiculous now as it is 59-17 with the layup by Moriah.

85-23 Liberty now...this is like a bad high school game

85-21 with 7:15 left. "You just haven't seen any give-up in this panther team". (Several easy fast break baskets in the last few minutes becaust VU players didn't hustle back.)

98-27 with the 3 from Alex Bream. Can we get to 100?

All 11 healthy players played no more than 21 and no less than 16 minutes. 33 assists and only 13 turnovers.

That might have been the funniest post I've read here in a while.

Some stats heard on the radio driving home from the game:
--new LU record set for assists, the number was around 33, I think
--shot around 64% from the field
--Moriah was 8-8
Of course, the highlight of the game was seeing a former LU men's player (ES) elevate from the seats to catch a Flames T-shirt tonight.

Soro?

One and the same, Fumble. I tried to box out Soro, but he had position on me and secured the prize of free T-shirt with a leaping grab over me and several small children who were also vying for the T.

I could not resist.....just watching that Coors Light commercial with Dennis Green has me laughing all the time...BTW, I heard Devon Brown had a huge game last night: 30+ points and 25 rebounds. She did by herself what VA Union could not do collectively as a team.

30 points is impressive, but 25 boards??? That is ridiculous. She must be playing at a whole different level than her opponents (and her teammates).

I also heard....

this interview with a reporter that I have not seen after the game with
Dashia Chandler:
Reporter: Dashia, I was curious how you prepared in practice for the matchup with the Lady Flames tonight?
Chandler: Practice, you talkin' bout practice? We be lucky if we win a freakin game...Practice?
The reporter walked away from that one a little stunned.

Should have done a Castanza and quit while you were ahead.

Devon Brown leads Waynesboro past Wilson Memorial
By Ken Bosserman
Sports Writer
FISHERSVILLE — Devon Brown scored 31 points, pulled down 27 rebounds and blocked five shots Friday night to lead Waynesboro past Wilson Memorial 65-59 in the girls' basketball season opener for both teams.
Brown, who has signed full scholarship papers with Liberty University, dominated play from the start and it continued throughout the contest. Nineteen of her rebounds came in the second half, with 11 of those along with 17 points in the final quarter when Wilson made a run to get back into the game.
