Haven't seen anything from libertyflames.com but Senior Egle Smigelskaite broke/sprained her foot at practice last week and won't be back until the spring. I talked to her the other day and she had a cast on it. I was really excited about her being healthy this year, and hoped she would be a big part of the front court. Guess we'll have to wait for the spring.

This is true....We mentioned it last night but didn't really want to dwell on it...Kittery Maine will be asked to play more minutes this year...Hopefully a Redshirt will be awarded..

I'm not sure if she will red shirt. Being her senior year I think she just wants to be done with college, at least that is the impression she gave me. I, of course, could be and hope I'm wrong.

Out all season? That seems odd for a foot fracture...especially for a senior...unless a decision has been made for her to redshirt and come back next year. Even a 5th metatarsal fracture can be pinned and the athlete could return in 6-8 weeks.

that's what I was thinking too, it is not a normal season-ending injury

I cannot imagine she will be out for the year, but even if it is 2-3 months, that would put her into January-February. Is she not in her 5th year? If the staff decides to attempt to redshirt her, I am thinking they would have to check with the NCAA on being granted that redshirt.

Wow, big loss for the team. Any word on if she will redshirt or come back this year yet?
