Yes, congrats to Katie. Probably the best achievement of any of our previous athletes!

Does this mean she's got a chance at the Olympic team?

Longshot. Kind of like an alternate. She's in the USA program, but not on our top roster yet, if that makes sense. Plus, there are at least 7 or 8 centers better than her...

Several of her teammates on this squad are Olympians, and if I'm not mistaken, Ann Donovan is also the coach for the 08 Olympic team, so this is at the very least a great honor and an opportunity to show what she can do in the international game.

Yes, it is. I'm very excited for her! And, stranger things have happened. I was just saying its still a longshot.

Well, Katie is moving closer to possibly going to the Olympics:
After averaging 6.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the USA Basketball Select Team, which finished second at last week’s FIBA World League Tournament, 2005 Liberty graduate Katie Feenstra has officially been added to the 2007-08 USA National Team roster, it was announced by USA Basketball.

Wasn't she asked to be on the Olympic team when she was still a student here? I thought she was asked, but she chose to go to her brother's wedding instead. Anyone confirm/deny this?

hmm, had not heard that one.
I'm thinking her brother would've moved the date of the wedding
