way to step up and represent LU. Feenstra scored 10 pts, grabbed 7 boards, and got 2 blocks in a 100-108 victory!

That's a high scoring WNBA game.

Phoenix plays that style of basketball. run and gun everytime but they don't play defense so it forces their opponent to score the basketball.

They are coached by Paul Westhead, who is famous for his run and press style going back to his teams at Loyola Marymont. Not quite Grinnell/VMI but close.

Westhead also coached the Run and Gun Showtime LA Lakers lead by a 20 year old pg named Earvin Johnson. He was replaced soon after by Pat Riley.

Katie's really been stepping it up with Ford down with an injury. I hope she continues to bring the heat in game 3!

What? A Mechelle Voepel piece involving LU that doesn't take any shots at us?
6-8 Feenstra finds perfect fit with Shock

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Detroit Shock on Saturday had one of those games the players needed to purge from their systems. Not "forget," mind you -- because they don't want to have a repeat of that substandard effort in their WNBA Finals matchup with Phoenix. But at the same time, there were no good vibrations to carry over from the 98-70 clunker (from the Shock's perspective) that was Game 2.

Another quote from the article Sly posted:
“I think I was one of the top rookies [in 2005] because they doubted me. They didn't think I could do anything, and they overlooked me. I think they figured, 'Katie's from Liberty, she's a Christian, she's gonna play soft, she's from the Big South -- what's that?' I had to prove myself.”

Game 5 on Sunday afternoon. Katie will likely play a much larger role in this one after Ford really messed her knee up badly again in the Game 4 loss. This one's in Detroit, and without Ford, there's a lot on Katie and Braxton's shoulders.

As a sidenote, I don't ever rememebr seeing so many technical fouls called in a playoff series in the WNBA's brief history. Girl fight!!

katie had a nice game. 15 points 5 rebounds in about 15 minutes of play but the shock could not get it done. congrats to katie on a good season.

With all due respect, it was 10 points and 3 rebounds.

(5 points, too) it's ok, man. I didn't think anything of it. By the way, I think 5 more points, and 2 more rebs. would have made a big impact, as close as this game was throughout.
