March feature in the Roanoke fishwrap ....
Parental guidance
While some coaches prefer to avoid talking with their players' moms and dads at all costs, Hidden Valley coach Steve Buchanan has a special situation.
Robert Anderson
Kylee Beecher knew as a young child that her father, Bobby, had played college basketball. The exact details remain a little fuzzy, but the memorabilia in the family basement from the old man's career at Virginia Tech two decades ago were proof enough.
Which one is her favorite?
"A picture of him and... I forget his name, another guy he played," she said. "It's a picture of him driving to the basket."

kylee is a very good player on a loaded team. the numbers are not that big because of the talent. her father bobby who used to play at VT is a customer of my company. she will be a quality addition to LU and this bodes well for making inroads in regards to recruiting in the roanoke valley where there are many quality athletes who may not have ever considered going to LU.

hidden valley is the newest high school in the valley. cave spring high school (jj redick, tiki and ronde barber) got too big and was split and HVHS was made. this school has some serious athletic talent. abby oliver signed with richmond and abby redick and abby boogs are mid-major DI prospects as well. i can tell you that this part of roanoke tradtionally has never sniffed out LU and im not sure LU has recruited this areahard as well, so this is a big signing IMO. she will be a solid contributor and it helps that her dad was a former DI player who has helped in her maturation process.

I saw her play in the State Championships this year. The whole team was pretty solid. She was pretty good for a Junior in High School. Needs to work on her footwork, is a little soft down low for her size, but all-in-all she will be a great addition. Now Redick looked pretty good, if there is anyway to wrap her up - we would do it - My guess is she's going to Duke.

I've been told that this girl could be an impact player out of the gates. Been told she has an WNBA body. This is a great pickup.

Sorry about that. I haven't been able to log in all summer and I just got the problem resolved, (kind of).
Yea, but this is an awesome deal here, Hidden Valley is a powerhouse here in Roanoke, and Kylee is one of the talents behind it. I'm really excited and i think everyone else that isn't already, should be excited to!
