Andie Bloodworth joined the Valparaiso University women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2005-2006 season. She is the recruiting coordinator, works with the perimeter players, and assists with scouting for the Crusaders.

In her first season as a member of the Brown and Gold coaching staff, Valpo went 16-13 and advanced to the semifinals of the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament. The Crusaders also had three players earn All Mid-Con accolades, including a First Team selection.

Bloodworth arrived at Valpo after spending three seasons at Gannon University in Erie, Pa. where she served as an assistant coach and the program’s recruiting coordinator. At Gannon, she helped develop the play of the guards, coordinated all of the team’s travel and assisted in preparing scouting reports of opponents. She also served as the staff’s academic monitor, and worked as the team camp coordinator. Bloodworth was also instrumental in guiding the Knights’ male scout team.

Prior to Gannon, Bloodworth was an assistant coach and physical education instructor at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Ga. While there, she helped recruit a class of players that recorded the best single season turnaround in the NCAA and post a 27-4 record, while earning the school’s first postseason bid.

In 1999, Bloodworth was an assistant women’s basketball coach for an Athletes in Action Fall Tour team that played exhibition games around the Midwest. She also has assistant coaching experience at Lake Michigan Community College, helping lead the team to a sixth place finish at the NJCAA Division II national championships. Bloodworth gained her first collegiate season’s worth of coaching experience at Ferris State University.

Bloodworth played at Calvin College where she led the school to the NCAA Division III regionals her final two years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education in 1998 and is working towards the completion of her Master of Science in sports medicine from Armstrong Atlantic State.
