I actually meant to lock it not delete it... Sorry about that... Let's try this thread again.

Liberty University Head Women’s Basketball Coach Carey Green did not have to look far to find a new assistant coach. Alexis Sherard, who served as an assistant on the Liberty men’s basketball coaching staff the past two seasons, has joined the Lady Flames’ staff in the same capacity.

Seriously, its great to see a man with his priorities in order. What is best for your family supercedes career goals. I speak from experience.

Probably setting himself up for the potential Women's HC position if Coach Green decides to move on. Don't see it happening but certaintly don't mind having AS waiting in the wings, either.

I have a feeling Alexis will be tremendous recruiting talent to LU based on what we saw in the men. Hopefully he is working Jess O as a top priority.

AS would be a solid candidate, I'm sure, should CG decide to move on sometime in the coming years. However, the BEST "in-house" candidate to succeed him is Kelley Deyo, IMO. Championship rings shine very bright on recruiting trails, and she's a proven leader.

I put the "in-house" in quotes because I know she's staying home for a time to care for the new little one in the Deyo home.

Don't know why I didn't come over here sooner, but Alexis is a great guy, and a great basketball person. I'm very happy for all involved.

This could wind up being a great move for both Alexis and the program. I'm anxious to see his impact on the ladies.
