Maybe its just me...
...but the following quotes from the article jumped out at me...
(bold added for effect)
(disclaimer about the bold added so as not to incur the wrath of Sly)
The 700 Club is a live program, produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN)
and...
The segment on the Frazees was taped earlier this month by a CBN production crew, on the Liberty campus.

On a similar note, isn't the show Live at Liberty rebroadcast several times?

Its a live show with portions of the show taped in advance. Welcome to every newscast in America.

I realize that...it's just having live show followed by a taped segment just struck my funny bone.

Sorry if I'm late. Yes, Sly is right in the sense that every broadcast in America has elements that are pre-taped to it, you know? I mean, if SCAR is doing a basketball game and shows footage of what happened when he talked with a player during half-time, that segment may be on tape but it doesn't take away from the fact that he's doing a live broadcast.

Yeah, we are doing a story on the Frazee's. In fact, I'm rather irritated at it, because I just found out about it yesterday and I've pitched on NUMEROUS occasions to the "third floor" (my term for the features dep't; I work in news) for stories with an LU athletics bent (such as Sam Gado and Katie Feenstra), and this Frazee thing just flew right over my radar. In fact, when I mentioned to a line producer that they should have let me know they were doing a story on the Frazee's because I'm an alumnus... and they said "oh, you are?"

Ugh.

True.

(and since I typed that at a work computer, I think I'm gonna get fired).

But they do have some nice digs over there...they've laid that campus out pretty nicely...

I've been in the audience on the 700 club more than once, and I've watched the show numerous times. Most of it's live but some of it is pretaped. What's with all the dissing Pat? I think he has a great sense of humor, but Kristi can be hillarious!

Calling a crazy crazy isn't dissing. It's just plain honest.

Although senile may be a better word than crazy, in this case.

Pat is crazy...plain in simple

I never said he didn't have a sense of humor..but he is crazy

Why are you saying he's crazy? You must have proof that I don't have.

Calling himself a prophet of God and predicting tsunamis and storms...and nuclear attacks by terrorists that will kill millions.
He qualifies as crazy to me.

Technically a prophet is just someone who delivers a message from God. It doesn't necessarily mean he's predicting the future so I believe he probably qualifies.

That said, in his latter years Pat has gotten a little screwy calling for assassinations and the like. He's still good people ... just just a little embarrassing from time to time. But he's still on the winning team.

Well said, although we have had some pretty big storms (Katrina). A nuclear attack is actually forseable, Iran, North Korea, could give a nuke to a terrorist (one crazier than Pat) in the future. 9/11 killed thousands the next step for these people could be millions. Although he is getting a little (a lot?) over board with some things.

but millions aren't dying on 24 with the nuke attacks only thousands

true, thousands is a little more realistic. but i wouldn't know, I've never seen that show.

I'd really worry if a special assistant corrects the president of the united states when he says "Millions will die" "no sir, only thousands...have you not been watching 24?"

I'm not sure how much weight that is going to hold

very nice piece...I must say seeing him get rejected by Megan (she used one of her crutches) was definitely quite funny

Thanks for the link, PG.

For the record, I was interviewed by Sheila Walsh live on 700 Club back in the day when we had a broadcasting club field trip over to Virginia Beach. So the Frazees and I have that going for us.
