I'm not really in shock that we lost, but a little bit in disbelief that our run has come to an end.

well we did it to ourselves. this is completely unacceptable. this team can't even win without Megan frazee. What a joke.

I wonder how KP feels...I'm not blaming her...but I know if I was her, I'd be feeling a bit guilty/depressed

completely blown...but that chick has screwed us all year long. we still didn't deserve to win because we should have put them away at the end of the first half

Hurricane-was that Kristi Vera reffing?

That may be true...but I still want to stand up and applaud this team for leaving it all on the floor tonight...its gonna be tough seeing those girls around campus after the break. Now these girls that are returning are going to want to work twice as hard in the offseason

KP shouldn't feel bad at all. 99.9999 percent of the time that is not a foul.
Even the Big South announcers were amazed at that call. That really was the 4 point swing. I actually thought the girls did a great job trying to hang on...playing on a neutral site...strage situation with Nikabasa the week before...then losing Megan, then getting a terrible foul call...and still almost pulling it out.
Rachel Hammond stepped up...Parker stepped up tonight...just not quite enough...I'm sure the girls will be motivated this off-season. Is KP a senior? Really, she shouldn't feel bad about the T.
For those of you that didn't see it...all she did was slap the ball.
That being said, yes, we could have put them away earlier...but I think the girls went down swinging. It was a great run.

On to next year. That is all I can say right now. We are not loosing that much to graduation. We just need to add to it. Not sure if this year's recruiting class is going to put us back to where we were during our run 2 years ago. It looks like a descent class but not great.
Not that it means anything right now but I would not have thought that we would have gotten anything higher than a 15 seed in the tourney and we would have probably gotten killed in the first round. Just not our year this year for some reason I just can't figure out what happened when things looked so promising after we knocked off Virginia early in the year.

DARDEN SENDS RU TO BIG SOUTH FINALS WITH LAST SECOND SHOT
March 9, 2007
ASHEVILLE, N.C.--Junior Kelli Darden's falling-down shot with four tenths of a second gave second-seeded Radford a 57-55 win over third-seeded Liberty Friday night in the 2007 Advance Auto Parts Big South Conference Championship semifinals at UNC Asheville's Justice Center.
The win gives the Highlanders their first trip to the women's basketball championship game since 1996. Radford will face tournament host No. 4 UNC Asheville Saturday at 2:00 pm. The RU win also marks the first time Liberty has lost a Big South Tournament since 1996.
Darden's shot was just the second lead of the game for Radford, who scored the first bucket of the game to take an early 2-0 lead.
Darden had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead Radford and sophomore Johnette Walker added 13. Megan Frazee and Rachel Hammon each had 10 to lead the Lady Flames
Radford wasted no time getting this up

A tough pill to swallow - for sure not a T I think worst case I thought i was going to be a jump ball. The Big South annoncuers we amazed at a couple of calls that weren't called against LU w/in the last few minutes. With 3 mins to go we were up by 2 or 3, one of our players missed a 3 got her on rebound ans immediately shot another 3. At times we just looked lost out their. Like BigSm. said on another thread we just don't have the talent we should.

Gotta hustle, but to explain the tech ... it was by the book. They called a foul on KP for dragging the RU player down after the initial call was fouled. That is a deadball foul, and per NCAA rules, any deadball personal foul immediately becomes a technical foul.
