We are still in the hunt for the Big South title despite the lackluster play of the past few weeks. But we need to win these games against the mediocre teams like CCU to stay in the hunt. Its a 7:00pm tipoff at the Vines.

You all are on your own for this one tonight. I'm being pulled to cover Seminole District wrestling tonight instead. Just a case of too many events going on at once and not enough bodies to cover them. We also have Region III track (Chris H.), Seminole basketball (Nathan), state swimming (Ted) and UVa basketball (Andy) going on, and one of our freelancers was unavailable today. We can get a press release from the LU-CCU women's game. Can't with any of the high school stuff.

LU survives a major scare at home by 2. Had to come back down by 6 with 3 minutes to go. Coastal had the 3 point shot but missed it with time expiring.

that 3 pointer was a wide open look for Coastal. that shooter was 37% shooter from the perimeter.

That was one scary win! If you added all the steps Coastal took that the refs didn't call you could have probably walked all around the vines center 2 times though.

Don't let Critic count the attendance

We had just under 2000. Good crowd. ("But it was College for a Weekend" comeback in three... two... one...)
As far as the last second 3... we had three girls move toward a player flashing to the top and allowed Lyons to slide out and be wide open. They set a good screen but we missed an assignment. We got lucky she missed cause we would have only had about 1.5 seconds to counter.
Coastal is always tough to beat... about the only person that knows Carey better than Alan LaForce is Denise.

JF did announce that there were over 2,000 people here for CFAW. About the attendance, I saw a CFAW parent get into an argument with a person in the ticket booth. Apparently, the CFAW students get free tickets, but the parents or sponsors have to pay for theirs. And after the game, I was driving by the ice arena, and the parking lot was jammed! Anybody know if we had a hockey game last night, or if the CFAW kids and sponsors got in free at the ice rink but not at the b-ball game?
Our attendance at b-ball games was huge in the old days because there was nothing else to do on campus, but now with the ice rink, wrestling, the new student center, movies 10, and all the shops & restaurants on 29 South, students have a lot more options on a Saturday night than they used to.
