Moriah Frazee Named New Balance Freshman of the Week

February 20, 2006 · Charlotte, N.C.

Liberty’s Moriah Frazee has been tabbed the New Balance Freshman of the Week, the league announced today.

Frazee, a forward from Xenia, Ohio, led the Lady Flames to the No. 1 spot in the Big South standings, posting 15.0 points per game as Liberty notched a 2-0 record on the week. She was 10-of -25 from the floor for 40 percent, while connecting on 9-of-13 at the foul line (69 percent). She also came up with 11 rebounds on the week for a 5.5 rebounds per game average.

Moriah and the rest of the Lady Flames return to action Wednesday, February 22, as they travel south to Rock Hill, S.C. to take on the Eagles of Winthrop. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Winthrop Coliseum.

She played a good game against High Point. Nobody on HP team could stop her. Their (HP) post players are slow.

Congrats to Moriah! She's stepping up in a big way for our ladies. It could be an amazing blessing if this team continues to win without their best player... the growth that this young team will have on their own without Megan can only make us more dominant next season.

Great job Moriah.

While nobody wants to play with Megan, this may prove to be a blessing in the long run for Moriah to get an opportunity to step up and be the goto player. Now we'll have two strong options to start next season when Megan returns.
