An undefeated regular season?

In looking at year's past, we have played VA Tech very tough. It looks like they are our toughest remaining opponent. I know it is a stretch to prognosticate this early, but I think an undefeated regular season is feasible. If that happens, where do you speculate we would be seed going into the post season tournament?

Virginia Tech, JMU, Marist, and possibly Maryland will be our tougher games. If we go unscathed in our non conference schedule and as long as we handle business in our conference and somehow shock Maryland we could be a 9th seed or 8th maybe. But there is a lot of season left to go before the NCAA's.

Throw in George Washington to that mix. GW has been fliriting with the top 25 so far this season. I agree that VT, JMU, GW, Marist and possibly Maryland will be the tough games. If we win out in the non-conf with the exception of MD, I think a 9 to 11 seed is very likely provided we take care of business in the Big South.

The last time we went undefeated through the regular seaosn the selection committee rewarded with a 16 seed and a matchup with the undisputed top team in the nation in the first round (Tennessee). Granted our Sweet 16 run probably saved us from a similar fate in the future. But it just goes to show that you never know what is going on in the minds of the committee.

Yes but our last undefeated season (my sophomore year) was only the second B.S. Championship of our current ten-year run, and also saw us playing a much weaker non-conference schedule than what we're playing this year. Kisseleva and the Wilkerson twins were good, but I doubt they could have gone undefeated given this year's schedule.

Our SOS that year was dead last. We probably deserved a 15 seed, but it wasn't as big an injustice as it seemed at the time.

This year if we were to go undefeated we would be around a Top 15 team and a 5-7 seed. (Assuming Maryland has the year expected and GW, UVa and Pitt have decent seasons.)

Now having said that... undefeated is a crazy thought... CRAZY! To go through any schedule undefeated is amazing let alone one with the defending National Champs in the mix. If we made it to conference play with only a loss or two, we should be very happy.

I don't think it would be out of the question if it weren't for UMD. Many times we've run through the Big South unscathed. I didn't notice UMD on the schedule when I posted the thread, but I'm sure they will be pretty much impossible to beat. GW is also ranked but I think we can give them a good game.

I should have done more research before posting this thread...my fault. Va Tech is borderline awful considering where they have been in the past. I would say they are beatable.

Undefeated talk is very premature and likely impossible. However, we should be very happy and proud of the girls team thus far. It wasn't many years ago, we wouldn't even be discusing the possibilities of playing with these teams. Don't be setting yourself up for a disappointment.

still, a nice situation to be in to even be CONSIDERING that possibility- however much of a long shot. What a job Coach Green has done with this team. Call it a franchise .

He's done a tremendous job with this program. The cupboard is never empty with a steady stream of great recuits and a great coaching job. How the man hasn't been scooped up by a bigger program by now is crazy.

His loyalty to this program is amazing.

Yeah, Coach Green was offered a job by Clemson but we convinced him to stay.

I doubt we'll go undefeated in the regular season, as we have match-ups with JMU, Marist, GW, and VT left plus the good chance of playing Maryland. As long as we don't have any bad losses (i.e. to schools like American or to our Big South foes) then we should be good...if we win against JMU, GW, and VT-that could go a long way with the selection committee come March. Course VT does need to get its season turned around some to be more of a quality win.

Yes S.S sucked badly sorry no refund, you have to remember that there are certain things for some of us on here that we can't get into... I was just making a point that basically that first sentence was not correct, trying to make sure that certain facts are straight

Ah, I see the error...this is why I don't think about something else while typing and talking on the phone at the same time.
Now, to correct myself: Coach Green was looked at by Clemson but decided to stay.

It is WAY too early to be talking about undefeated. We have some very tough teams left that include (probably) the defending champion Maryland Terrapins. This team could set themselves up for a good seed if they continue.
