JMU lost a close one to one of our future opponents George Washington 68-56 up in DC today. so this should be a good game between LU and JMU on Wednesday.

Wow, Alexis and Andrea could pass for twins.
Seriously, nicely done critic.

This will be a good game for us to compare ourselves to other "good mid-major" programs...JMU could very well defeat ODU for the CAA title. A win here could go a long way come March, provided we take care of our Big South business.

This will be a tough test, right up there with Virginia, IMHO. JMU has won 14 straight at home, Liberty's won 10 straight on the road. Granted, the only road toughie in that span was the Virginia game.
I'm looking forward to the matchup between Alexis Meredith and Megan Frazee, both of whom are big-time scorers and rebounders. I'm curious to see if Carey puts KP on Meredith or if he uses Megan.
BTW, did you see Virgina Tech get skunked at home by William & Mary? 64-41. Yo.

I do, actually. Women's basketball was where I got my start covering a beat. I covered Carol Alfano's last year at Tech before she got canned. I also covered the one Tech team that went to the NCAA tournament in 96 ... Ace Custis, Damon Watlington, Shawn Smith ... that gang.
I'm much more of a hoops junkie than a football junkie, especially college hoops.

I talked with JMU head Coach Kenny Brooks (Great last name!!!) a few mins ago and he said that JMU will come here next year and that it is a matchup that they are going to try to continue each year... They are battling a few injuries and were up to 22-6 to start the game off at G.W until Tamara Young got poked in the eye with 10 mins to go in the first half and she didn't play for the rest of the half and he said they kinda got nervous a little bit. So it should be a good game tonight.

I have been reading up on JMU and my good friend Kenny Brooks. He and I played against each other back in the day and he was an assistant when I used to cover the JMU/GMU matchup in Fairfax for Comcast Sports in Northern VA. He has done a really good job in his 4 years on the women's side and I expect LU to have its hands full tonight. I will be at the Richmond/Radford men's game tonight but I can't wait to hear about this one. A compelling matchup to say the least. I have proclaimed the Lady Flames as perhaps the best team in the state in public so I need them to win this one tonight.

JMU up by 1 at the break. Shooting is okay at 44% but the turnovers are hurting us. JMU shooting around 50%

JMU by 10 now with 13 minutes remaining. JMU on a 7-0 run. We could be in trouble now.

We need a big run soon or this one is going to completely slip away.
