I see the excuse machine is up and running. If the league has caught up with us, that's on the coach. Especially when during this period of losing ground our resources exploded. Yes, after such a long period of low-level conference dominance, we should start to expect progress forward in tournament play. A program moving forward would have seen consistent second round appearances and more than one sweet 16.

Instead, we've moved backwards. Yes, we've won, and we've gone to the tournament some. However, the league has apparently caught up to us. That is regression.

Ding ding ding

I think we still have the best talent but what's not changed is our approach to the game. The women's game has evolved dramatically in the last 10 years; the style of play with pressure defenses and motion offenses is what most teams are playing in the BSC and with inferior talent they can now beat us, or we beat ourselves. The fact that we get only 5 steals a game (last in the BSC) and turn the ball over 19 times a game (1st in the BSC again) and out TO ratio was 342 out of 344 teams should be red flags for any AD. We may still get us into the NCAAs by virtue of playing in one of the weakest conferences (31 of 34) in the country, maybe, but we will never win a first round game with how we play.
