The most successful program on Liberty Mountain deserves its own forum. We give Coach Green and the Lady Flames their props while breaking down their run to the Big Dance once again.

4 teams in BSC at 7-2 and all 4 play each other tonight. GW have played a very tough non conference schedule (beat UNC). Lost to GW with Rinninger in December. If we limit TOs we win, if not . . . .

You are the king, queen and whole court of " being picky", so back off.

Shot lights out in the first half (30 points in first quarter)! Ashley's injury has allowed others to step up. When she returns (already cleared for practice), we should be peaking at the right time.

Keep Katherine at the low post. She finishes when she's 3 feet and in and put Ashley at the high post/wing. TOs are down since inserting Brooke Alexander and Sanders into starting lineup. Both are more productive than JFD and Mikal Johnson. We still need to play more aggressively on D - we give up way too many easy looks. Fortunately there are some poor shooting teams in the BSC (GWU). In the NCAA tournament not so (Seton Hall, Duke, etc). Time to introduce the pack line and Henry Berrera.

There are defenses every bit as effective as the 'Pack Line' defense.

Agreed! Please pass this on to Coach Green. Being last in the BSC (11 out of 11 teams by a wide margin) in creating TOs is not preparing us for the main stage but settling for winning the BSC only. I bet you heard this one before Play Basketball Maybe a dance instructor to help the players move their feet better :D

You go with the defense that works for the talent that you have. If its the "pack line", great. If its the matchup zone, fine. If its straight man, ok. If its "40 minutes of hell"...the point is, you cannot behold yourself to one defense as a coach, unless you always have players that work effectively within that system.

That's exactly right BJ! It would be nice to have the luxury of fitting your players into what defense you prefer as a coach. That's not the case at LU. Therefore some of the most critical coaching decisions become centered on adapting the right system for the skill set (and depth) of your players. We lack team quickness (remember UNC Asheville). We must not allow offensive rebounds by our opponents. The mantra has to be "one and done".

But it is far far easier in college to bring in players that fit your system.

Easier is relative-It's easier than high school where there is no recruiting (supposedly). However, we're not UConn who really doesn't recruit-they choose!

LU has recruited exactly the type of players that fit Coach Greens system. In recruiting you don't always go for the best player, you go for the best fit
