This should play into our advantage in the post, as well as the fact that Winthrop only plays I think 7 players so depth will help us to pull away

Winthrop leads 34-26 at the half.

This game is not yet in the bag for LU.

 I wasnt going to be surprised if we didn't make the Finals

As I said, the road to the championship goes through Liberty, and Winthrop knocked us off. Once again the turnovers were a major part of the story (15 for Liberty, 7 for Winthrop). Also, Winthrop got to the line a lot more than we did (23 attempts making 16 to 10 attempts making 6). SImply put, they earned it and good luck in the championship tomorrow to the Eagles.

65-59 Final. Lady Flames lose.

It feels strange saying this, but no BSC Title this year for "either" of the Men's or Women's programs.

Its only the 3rd time since 1997 that the ladies have not won the Big South and only the second time in the last 8 years Liberty failed to make the championship game, so youre right to feel strange. Winthrop did what they needed to do to overcome their very small rotation (PH can speak to how small the margin of error is playing only 7 players)

Winthrop was the quicker and more aggressive team. I thought we were overrated in the preseason given we lost 4 starters from last year due to graduation and Gardner's injury. Emily Frazier was preseason 1st team all conference preseason?! HPU and WU had strong teams coming back this year and they each added two of the best freshmen in the league in Keys HPU) and Williams (WU). Talent wise we were the 3rd best team in the conference. Next year should be interesting.
