This could have been the best team in BSC if Cheyenne Parker had not transferred to MTSU and Tremblay not have gotten injured earlier in the year. Keys will be FOY and maybe candidate for POY. We should win on our court.

This is an important game. a win takes away the head to head and really puts more pressure on the Panthers the rest of the way since they are about a half game back in the loss column with 9 games to go after tonight (especially since they lost to Winthrop and we did not).

HPU is using FTs to stay in this one. They are 25-of-26 from the line. That's not a misprint.

Panthers get the sweep 94-89 (One of I think two teams that swept LU in the regular season in the last 10 seasons, the other being Gardner-Webb in 2009-2010 which LU later avenged in the Big South Tournament).
As critic noted, turnovers are the issue once again, 26-17 in favor of HPU

Boy, our girls didn't seem to want the ball at the beginning of both halves. We shouldn't get out-rebounded by this team. Watching the game made it evident that the level of athleticism in the Big South women's game has improved greatly.

This girl Keys is going to be a force for a long time if she doesn't transfer out.

She'll compete with Erica Williams at Winthrop for frosh of the year. She may make the first team all conference team. There are 3 teams in the BSC more athletic than us - this has evened the playing field as teams have decided to go athletic knowing they can't match our height. Unfortunately our bigs don't move their feet very well either on offense but especially defense and are not aggressive rebounders. Every defensive rebound we got was contested as they were quicker to the ball and actually got 20 offensive rebounds against us. I do like our M to M defense however it gets our bigs out of position for the D rebound since we're hedging on the high post ball screen. HPU is a very young team but looked especially poised tonight and didn't seem to be out of gas at the end.

When the score gets out of the 70's we lose, even double OT. LU has always been deficient athletically in the back court, OT at least the last 10 year. We had an athletic front court for a couple of years. That has been exposed in the NCAA Tournament and once or twice in the BSC Tourney. Now more schools are exploiting it and we don't have the rebounding advantages we used to. It spells difficulty

Good post purple.
We need to recruit a little better to bring in more athletic players. the lack of athletic players hurts us against the really good teams we play. Need to be able to play more of a full court game, than a half court game.
(SAME IS TRUE FOR MEN'S TEAM)

BSC has always been a guard oriented league with us as the exception. The problem is the guards the last couple of years are really good. Ellis and Brown will be good but now we struggle. There are 2-3 teams that play at a different speed then we do and pressure defenses takes it's toll, hence the high TOs. HPU will have their whole team back next year as well. Their freshmen are really good - Keys, Jackson, Vincent and their starting two bigs Phelps and Robertson totally outplayed ours. They crashed the boards on every shot, both on the offense and defense, while we were left flat footed and they shot the ball very well. We now have to beat Winthrop and hope they beat HPU for us to take the top spot heading into the tournament.
