Lose by 1, we have ball with 8 seconds to go but couldn't get a shot off.

30 more :( The good news this is a very young team. UVA defense applied a lot of pressure but we made way too many ill advised passes which lead to their 20 steals. We got 5 steals. I liked the lineup of Ellis, Brown, Sanders, Rinninger and Kearney - lots of height and length -3 sophs and 2 frosh.

I thought we had more than 30. We must have had generous stat guys
UVA went 0-8 from 3pt land in the 2nd half
There goes any chance at a seed higher than 14

Purple, in the newspaper, I think Coach Green said when you don't get a shot off when time expires, it goes down as a turnover. Is that correct, according to your referee's rulebook?

That's more of a Stat Boy question. I know it is when the shot clock expires. If the game ends its sort of difficult to have a TO. Although you can have a Technical Foul

Imagine how good this team could be if they cut the TO's in half. They probably win that game by 10. But year after year...

Not really. The TO's the WBB team commit are of a different variety than the MBB team..

If you really look at it, the majority of the turnovers are concentrated to three players (maybe four). so if we want to work on cutting down the turnovers, there is where you start

4 out of 8 or 9 players is a pretty good number of players. You can't really think the 5-6 girls who don't play in the game to actually turn the ball over  Plus, your primary ball handlers are going to be the ones who commit most of the turnovers. Renninger plays a high reversal spot so her turnovers aren't surprising.

The attendance at this game was embrassing. Anytime an ACC team comes to Liberty, the place should be packed. I was surprised that more UVA fans were not there.
The Vines Center should have been over flowing for this one.

just b/c title IX says it matters just as much doesnt mean it does.

Granted it was women's hoops, but I have seen Vines Center packed before for a women's game.

Heck I even drove to Charlottesville one Sunday afternoon to see a UVA-Miami women's game. and I have been to Virginia Tech many times to see VT women play.

IM probably the biggest women's hoops fan on the site. It actually seemed the crowd was larger then the night before for the UNCW men's game. They were certainly more animated. We just don't put an exciting product on the floor. Its successful for the Big South but that doesn't mean it is riveting basketball

I think both men's and women's crowds are way down from years past. I don't know fully why, unless it's the team's records. I think it would help if we had a player that has "drawing power", the ability to put fans in the seats.

Also I have noticed that the "high dollar seats" are mostly empty this season. Students are not supporting team as they have in the past. Hopefully after Christmas the crowds will pick up.

I didnt say that the ones who arent in the game wont turn it over...I said that if you want to work on cutting the number down, that is a good place you can start.

We have 16 girls listed on the roster
9 girls played some amount of time
You say only 3 or 4 players need to cut down their turnovers.
Obviously the 7 who didn't play can't help us reduce the turn over numbers because......wait for it......they didn't play
That means 4 of 9 or almost 1/2 the people that did play need to stop turning the ball over. And of those 4 they are the ones that handle the ball the most.

So your remedy is that the people IN the game shouldn't turn the ball over. Brilliant! :D
Or is it that the people who handle the ball most shouldn't turn it over?
Or do you just rethink your statement and go 'oops'?
