Devon was certainly playing with a heavy heart tonight, but definitely its good to have her back. Avery...what more can you say that hasnt been said...Reagan..its hard to really get a bead on her because she can have a great game like she did against Lipscomb, and then take a step back like tonight. Would have been nice to see them come all the way back after getting down like they did in the second half

Devon was certainly playing with a heavy heart tonight, but definitely its good to have her back. Reagan had 4 assists, 1 TO and 7 points. The one TO was to a wide open Kearney who wasn't looking for the pass. I think she's been great up till now given she plays the point as a freshman and is generally hounded by the other teams best and quickest defender for the whole game. She's had to play a lot of minutes so far and has handled herself quite well. Coach Green sang her praises after the game.

Yeah Reagan is a freshman going up against seniors from good teams it seems. Bottom line, she's awesome and will be a great asset to have when the game is on the line in the postseason.

Well I returned from the game and since you asked, here are my thoughts:
For the first time in memory THE NACHO CHEESE WAS HOT!
I was trying to visualize the artist drawing of the Vines and concluded the artist probably never set foot in the vines
The Blue padded chairs have no leg room, the red a little better but the cheap plastic blue ones have the most
Now for the game
JMUs defense was not that good. Had they made one or two changes, it would have been a lot tougher to score
Devon's knee is not close to 100%
We did a good job mixing defenses.
JMU's style fits us well. Very deliberate and very methodical. We can and should play with teams that run that style
Reagan needs to work on a quicker release on her shot. I would suspect that she did better against a team like Lipscomb because there players were not as athletic and not able to close out like that
AVERY ! She is like Mike Ditka on those old Super Fans skits from SNL. Just put her name in for Ditka and that will be what I think of her. And I think in a show down between her and Ditka would be worth the PPV.

Our 6'5" freshman center was getting some great defensive stops. I haven't seen that many blocked shots in the Vines since Peter Aluma suited up for the men's team.

JMU kept driving right at her and not passing to the open players. That sort of surprised me from them.
I also had a chik FIL a sandwich and my thought was.....tastes just like albatross!
Would have liked to see more creativity on offense from us but that's just me.

We showed promise tonight, against a good JMU team. It was disappointing not to find a way to win at home; it seemed like we gave up quite a few wide open looks from the 3. Turnovers continue to haunt us.

Avery was fun to watch and Reagan seemed to play well at the point. Our interior defense looked good. Catherine Kearnie showed lots of promise, clearly very athletic for a big freshman; she had a couple blocks and altered numerous shots on the inside. She's also very good at not turning the ball over. I suspect this team will continue to improve and make a strong run in the Big South.

Very good question. I would start Reagan because she is more of a floor general than Emily. I think Emily will learn with time, no doubt the experience helped her last year, so I guess it wouldn't be fair to judge yet. I think they both have huge potential.

Reagan can be a better scorer and probably a better shooter. It will be nice to have another option at guard though. Either can play the 1 or 2. Danika can then play the 3 or 4 to give Tolu and Devon a break. Danika and LaKendra, along with Devon lead the team in steals . . .should use them in a pressing situation.
