Sierra Little is a transfer from ODU. They will have their 6'6" center this game after missing the 1st game with an injury. They also have a 6'3" freshman F/C who gave us fits last game. They have the height to match us and their gurad play is the best in the league. They have a propensity to foul a lot so we'll need to shoot better than 50% from the line to be competitive. If we match their intensity we'll be ok. Rick Reeves gets the most from the talent he has.

The game Saturday at CSU not withstanding, we are having major problems scoring points.

Push the tempo and get the game into the 70's should be LU's strategery for this one.

I hope we are getting off our scoring schnide, we'll see with this one and at UNCA Monday.

3 point shooting and foul shooting will be the key. LU does not play up tempo! If the Hudson's and Jasmine Dale get hot from behind the arc then LU will be in trouble. Our 2-3 zone has to be especially active and hold them to one shot. When GW plays man to man we need to have a few set plays (clear outs) for Devin and/or Jelena to attack the basket. Lastly, we need to limit TO's to 15 and make 75% of our fouls shots to beat this team. There is less and less separation between us and 4-5 other teams in this league. We have to be playing our best every game unlike last year when we won games by an average of 17 points. All the teams are better this year and our lack of consistent guard play makes us vulnerable to quicker and more aggressive teams (eg Radford) even though we may have more talent. Having said all that, I still would put my money on LU.

Although I haven't seen G-W yet, from the other teams I have seen, IMHO the talent gap between LU and other BSC WBB programs is almost as big as ever. This year's team has just not shown the consistent focus or level of motivation to put teams away like we have in the past. Having said that, 8-1 is nothing to sneeze at. Even in the more dominant times, there were only a couple of seasons when we went undefeated in conference.

First half of today's doubleheader at the Vines Center ... isn't it too cold to do much of anything else tonight outside of taking in a couple of games?

We should have had at least 2 more. Devon scored on a drive late and they called a bogus charge. Shoild have been an and-one. Devon with 13 at the half. Avery has 13 rebounds. I see a record maybe.

Jelena is extremely talented, but she is way too careless. She has 7 turnovers in this game already. A couple of them were mind-numbingly bad.

42 to 33 LU with 12 remaining. Seems GWB is living and dying by the 3. Not sure if the D is great or if its their style, I don't remember GWB being a 3 point team.

Somebody needs to explain to the lady ref what traveling is and is not. Far as I can tell she obviously doesn't know. LU leads 48 to 42 with 8 remaining.
