Up 51-48 with 3 minutes left. Coastal is 0-5 in the Big South and we are again struggling with turnovers. We were up by 12 and seem to be losing it.

We get the win 58-54 on Avery's dominant inside play and clutch free throw shooting down the stretch. She finished with 14 points and 13 boards.

G-W beats PC 52-33.

Going to be a knock down drag out defensive battle next Monday night down here. I hope to be there.

A good win. We have to be more concerned about losing the second halves of the game and losing substantial leads. We are no longer the dominant team in BSC and have to be on our game night in and night out. 4 three point shots. No one on the team has any confidence to take that shot and we don't shoot a very hight percentage at that. It would be nice if Emily took a few more to draw out the D so she can then penetrate and dish to an open big vs. dishing to our bigs when they're blanketed with a defender. Our offense is so tight it makes team defense easier for the opposition. I would like to see us spread the floor more to create driving and passing lanes rather tahn JUST pounding the ball to the bigs. Just a thought. I still like the short bench. Play Basketball

eh... the way things are going I'm pretty sure you'll beat us. We just need to get ready for the conference tourney.

and thats why Im glad youre not the coach...since youre obviously mailing in the rest of the season even though we have 10 games left

The only thing that matters is the Big South Tournament. We've already given away a shot at any type of good seeding in the NCAA so now we just have to get there.

Based on what I have seen, the talent gap is still there. We still have bigger and better players than anyone in our conference except possiply G-W. We simply are not executing.

I think the mind set of the other BSC teams has changed. They don't fear us any more. There were times in the past when all we had to do was roll the ball out at the Vines and the other teasm was beaten. Not any more. They have seen that if they play hard for 40 minutes and execute their game plan, this team will screw up enough to keep them in the game and give them a chance to win. So far it's only worked for Radford, but we have had close calls that shouldn't have been.

We will definately need to step it up a notch to beat Gardner Webb.

I didnt say that in regards to any good seeding for the NCAA Jon...I was more responding to the fact that he sounds like he is giving up on any decent seeding in the conference tournament.

We're tied for first BJ. It would take a world class pessimist to think we are out of the running for a good BSC seed. It was obvious he was referring to the fact (and unfortunately it is a fact) that if we win the BSC tournament we are likely destined to no better than a 15th seed based on our bad losses and lack of a signature win in pre-conference.

Radford beat us as well, so maybe it is the Lady Highlanders we should fear?

Last night we should have feared the Beach Chickens

We should have...but we didnt...when it looked like we were gonna have another Monday collapse, the girls rose up (particularly Avery) and they got stops when it mattered and did what the good teams always do...found a way to win. I was sitting in my room thinking after the game and not everyone can be UConn or Tennessee who go out and pound everyone in conference by 50 every night just because they can. And even then, they cant win them all either.

Look at ODU...they had been the most dominant force in the CAA almost from the word go. 17 consecutive NCAA tournament bids (a record) They now have to fight with teams like Drexel and JMU and they actually have lost their share of games as well...does that mean that they arent very good? Absolutely not...Wendy Larry is probably going to be a Hall of Famer when she finally decides to hang her whistle up...and just hit 600 wins late last week...have they had some close ones...of course...does it mean she is losing her touch...certainly not...and we have had plenty of close ones too...so I dont think we should necessarily fear anyone...not Coastal...not Gardner-Webb...not anyone (even Radford who we lost to)

Last time I checked... I wasn't the coach. Nothing really in the regular season matters at this point. If we don't win 3 games, we don't get in. I think you're taking what I say about the regular season just a bit too literally...

Question...does it really matter what seed we are in the tourney as long as we win the thing to get into the NCAA tourney? The only good the #1 seed does us is guarantee the WNIT if we don't win it.

Yes it does. I would rather lose respectably against a #3 or 4 seed than get plastered by a UConn, Baylor, or Tennessee by 40 points or more. Those kinds of loses really stick out and makes us look bad.

No, those losses make us feel bad. No one would expect any team other than UConn, Baylor, or UT to compete with UConn, Baylor, or UT in the first couple rounds. We're not going to lose recruits or respect because we can't hang with WNBA teams that happen to play college ball.

Making it to the dance is better for exposure than anything else. We need to get there and take our lumps and get better next year.

If he is talking about the NCAA tourny, what "To the Left" just stated would be correct 10 years ago but I think that we have advanced beyond the point of just taking our beating in the first round. A 2nd or 3rd round beating would be more admirable.
