This won't be pretty.

Over or Under, 30 Liberty turnovers?

I don't like the turnovers any more than the next guy, but the fact is we have won lots of games with that many or nearly so.

JMU is good, and is rightly favored to win this game at home, but I doubt it will get ugly. They are not on a level with some of the teams we have played this year.

Supposedly, Devon may play today. Personally, I hope Green holds her out unless she is truly 100%. In addition to the conference games being a higher priority, she was clearly pressing last year in Harrisonburg (near her home town) and played poorly. IMHO it would be better to make her season debut at home if she is still even a little less than healthy.

Up early 7-4. Jelena has 5 for us. Devon is not playing so far.

Devon is now seeing her first action of the year. We are still up 12-10.

JMU scores to tie it up, but Dymond puts us back up, then we turn it over and they score on the break to make it 14-14.

Apparently Dawn Evans is out due to illness. This is a nice opportunity to snag an RPI-friendly W on the road.

14-all with 10:44 to go in 1st half

JMU up 34-33 at the first media timeout of the second half. JMU fans chanting "USA" every time Jelena touches the ball. Devon scored 6 points in 7 minutes in the first half.

After trailing by as much as 11 with 4 minutes to go, we have closed the lead to just 3 with 1:30 left.

Frazier misses from 3. They rebound and are fouled. Not sure if that shot was what Carey wanted.

Our lack of ability to beat JMU in anything is becoming increasingly annoying

If you would have told me that we would have only 13 turnovers and JMU would play without one of the leading scorers in the nation (Dawn Evans) and we still lose . . . . . There's only one way to go and that is up! They seem to play with a little more confidence with Devon in lineup. She was a little rusty. Devon cannot be the ONLY option offensively. Jelena has got to be more productive offensively for this team to excel this year. I'm waiting for the 25 ppg MVP of European Basketball championships to show some of her talent. Her shooting, along with just about everybody else can only get better. See Evan Gordon yeasterday :)

I'm a bit more opptimistic than I was, but still JMU could have been a win that would have been a major changer. We had the chance, we didn't get it. Such is life.

Certainly was a tough break to come up just short on this one...but we definitely showed a lot of heart today to rally back and its good that Devon was on the floor for this one. Still not gonna hit the panic button on this one for sure...we have had rough starts before and Coach Green has always managed to right the ship when it matters most...

I just looked it up in the media guide but we have never had a losing season under Coach Green (and actually had only a few non-20 win seasons)

And if JMU had a Quiz Bowl team, LU would show them how strong we are academically. Study
