The most successful program on Liberty Mountain deserves its own forum. We give Coach Green and the Lady Flames their props while breaking down their run to the Big Dance once again.

Itd have to be a pretty big offer for Coach Green to leave the mountain at this point...yeah he has been at Clemson before but he has reached the point where like you said olldflame, he is an "LU Lifer". If one of the top 5 jobs in women's college basketball opened up maybe...but I dont think he would jump for this one...Im sure JB is working on something pretty nice for him though just to be on the safe side

If you say it's not possible enough, maybe that makes it true. ;-)

I have a gut feeling that, if he is offered, we're going to be searching for a new coach. And I think he's going to be on the radar.

He's definitely on the radar. Rumor has it that in either 05 or 06 he was offered the job and turned it down.

I guess I should have said I hope he doesn't leave. Who would fill that position?

2005, after the Sweet 16 run Clemson was granted permission to talk to Coach Green and they either did or did not offer but Coach Green had a press conference and announced he was staying at LU.

There is someone else locally who is currently getting experience coaching girls, and he would bring a very talented point guard prospect with him.

Actually, if coach Green were to leave, IMHO JB should make Alexis Sherrod an offer as quickly as he can. I'm talking within minutes. No need to look further.

Haha, I don't think the first coach you alluded to would work well under the current AD. :P

And I agree on Sherrod. As soon as you grant Coach Green permission to talk to Clemson, start drafting up a contract for Alexis.

yeah, that would be as crazy as having your star MBB player transfer to Duke or something, then losing your head coach- all in one off season

could never happen

Cary Green not= RMK

I hear what you're sayin though.

If Cary was indeed offered the Clemson Job in 05 and turned it down, it would be a strange turn of events for him to take it now. I really don't think he was actually offered then.

I have been informed that he was actually offered the job.

They can inquire about his interest discreetly without actually making an offer. I don't think they are going to break the bank for a WBB coach.

UNC offered Roy Williams twice.

I agree with most on here. In men's basketball it is different (money wise), so I could see him jumping if it were men's basketball (of course if he made it to the sweet sixteen in men's basketball he would have been gone a LONG time ago!). In women's basketball it just isn't even close to the same, and I don't see him going anywhere, anytime soon.

I wouldn't be shocked if he took the Clemson job, as it would be a step up in conference play and recruiting, but he has a good thing going at Liberty and I too would bet he will retire from the mountain, rather than leave it for another college coaching job.
