This game is huge, and hopefully can be a "statement game" for our ladies. We are 6-0 and High Point is 6-1. If they were to come to our house and get the win, they are in the driver's seat. I don't think that will happen, and I expect our ladies to put an old fashioned whoopin on them and firmly establish themselves as the Alpha females of the BSC again.

And the ladies get off to a quick 5-0 start on a 3 by Rahhel Hammond and a block and breakaway by Megan.

Another trey by Hammond to make it 8-3. She has now hit 8 straight over 3 games!

23-12 lady Flames with 8:00 left in the half. Live stats is non functional, but I'm guessing Hammond has 12. Her streak of made treys is now at 9.

Now 27-12. Amber Mays with a nice drive for a bucket and then a sweet dime to Moriah.

Toey gets T'd up as the officials are letting a lot of physical play go.

Hammond makes the technical FT, and it is 29-12 with 6:30.

Scoring has slowed way down after a torrid start. 31-14 with 2:00 in the half.

Halftime score

LU 33
HP 14

So far, we are doing just what we need to do to send a loud message to the BSC. "WE'RE BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!"

We get off to a very sloppy start in the 2nd half and the lead is cut to 33-20. Megan makes 2 FT to put it back to 15.

So much for that. 42-20 LU after Hammond hits her 10th straight 3.

44-20 with 13:00 to play. Rachel Hammond with a career high 22.

It's the Rachel Hammond show today. 47-23 after another 3.

11:52 left in the second half ... Rachel Hammond 25, High Point 23.

Apparently Rachel did miss a 3 early in the half, but she is 5-6 today and has 25 points. 51-25 LU with 9:00 to play.

This team is really hitting their stride at the right time of the year. Hopefully we'll..., well nevermind too early for that. Keep up the good work ladies.

Megan getting hot now and it's blowout time, 65-32 with 3:38 to play. :woohoo

Kittery Maine has a hard time getting any PT for us, she could start for a lot of teams in the BSC. Legit strong 6'4 post player with good hands.

I think that anyone on our team including Jess Nelson could start for any big south team.

10 straight for HP in a totally "garbage time" end-of-game.

Final Score:

LU 65
HP 42

65-42 is the final. Seemed worse than that with the last minute very sloppy. Rachel Hammond was unbelivable.

Seeing Jamie with his "new look" I couldn't help but think of:

Actually, its a collective statement by all the other teams in the BSC, something to the effect of: "We all are bad this year. Take the trophy and your low NCAA Tourney seed now. Sorry we couldn't help."

What I mean is, conference rpi is now so bad that LU has little hope of rising above a 15-seed this year (my prediction). They'll have 0 quality wins in last 2 months of season as individual rpi falls, despite conference wins.

I think we'll get a 14, but still too early to predict stuff like that.
