Expectations for this year's team

I was trying to find a thread about this year's expectations. If I'm missing it, please add a link. Obviously, the record is not impressive at 2-6 and apparently there have been some injuries. How is the team expected to do in the Big South?

I hope we can improve, but it looks to be No Bueno depending on getting a triplet or 2 healthy

If Megan is back for conference play we should stil be the favorites.

I agree, and the "blessing in disguise" of Megan's injury is that it has given some major minutes to Kylee Beecher, Danika Dale and Kittery Maine, who will be much more prepared to contribute during conference play.

We really need to get Rachel McCloud back though. Amber Mays has been terrific, but her and Rachel Hammond can't continue to play the minutes they have been. Jesse could help some there as well.

If everyone had stayed healthy, we would be looking at another run in the NCAA tournament. However, I'll just be happy to get back there this year. If Megan returns for conference play, we are still the favorites in my opinion.

First off, let me state my ignorance: Kittery Maine does not list list Kittery, Maine as her home town, yet, there must be a connection. Could someone educate me?

Next, although 5-7 is not what we have come to expect, obviously with Megan out for a while, and with quite a tough schedule, I think it's understandable. Do I have company in stating that "Anyone questioning Coach Greene's prowess
would be a complete idiot?"

I seriously seriously seriously seriously seriously doubt that.

Well if you realize that some of the games we lost... Auburn, Hartford, South Alabama... etc - we didn't have Megan. I think you have to say we would have beaten some of these teams if she was playing. So if everyone is healthy in the tourney....

Even without Molly and Brittany; with Megan, Rebecca and Rachel McLeod back at or near 100% and the development of Avery Warley, Kylee Beecher and Amber Mays, it looks like at the least our ladies have returned to a dominant position in the conference. High Point may say different, and we need to TCB when we play them Saturday. I don't necessarily see a sweet sixteen run, but if we get a 14 seed or better, we can give a first round opponent a run for their money.

Seriously this might be the best coaching job Coach Green has done...I think we were down to 3 bodies at one point

That was my thought during the Auburn game, HMO. They had no business, with their injury and depth issues, even competing that day. Yet they were still in it 30 minutes into the game.

I seriously think that Coach Green should be BSC CoY for what he's done this year with all that's happened...Heck I think ought to be considered for national CoY

I think the BSC has become numb to what this man is doing/done...then again I think we have too at times

I looked at the schedule/results page on here and I realized what an amazing job Coach Green has done.

Jessica Nelson joined the team before the St Paul's game...we had I think 6 maybe 7 players available at that point...and had been hangin with teams with just those 6 or 7 players. Since then we have only lost one time and that was to Vanderbilt (and we were hangin around with them too for a while). I agree with Olldflame in that even with all the adversity these girls have been through that we are now in a very dominant position in conference. Only one of the games in conference this year has been decided by <10 points (4 @ Winthrop). We may not be talking at the level of the Katie Feenstra Kristal Tharp era Lady Flames but these girls are definitely writing a very good story this year.

In a word: Great!
