I was not referring to what your coach had you do as suicide drills. I was telling you what I had my team do after missing layups due to a lack of concentration.

The thing that impressed me most about the Hudsons was their ability to finish contested layups against bigger opponents, a lot of them off balance or requiring "english" to go in. That is a product of mental and physical toughness and a lot of time in the gym. Meanwhile we were missing wide-open, uncontested layups as well as free throws (and we still almost won).

As much credit as Emily gets for the big 3 against HP, it was the wide-open layup early in the second half that she absolutely gagged on after being given a path to the basket wide enough to drive a tractor-trailer which triggered the G-W run which won the game for them. That shot would have tied the game. Instead, they came back and hit a 3, and built the lead from there.

Requiring english? I'm not sure what you mean by that.

If youve ever played pool putting english on a ball means to put spin on it so that it curves around an obstacle

Engish=spin. At least 3 or 4 of the layups the Hudson twins made they didn't have the angle to make them directly over our bigs, and they put it on the board further to the side of the rim with enough spin to make it bounce off the board at a different angle and go in. It's something you need to practice.................... a lot.

I thought GW represented themselves well against Miami. Rick did better then this year then his first few at LU. Of course, he wasn't playing UT, or ODU either! Miami is a good squad and they did well! Congrats!

Miami was able to get to the line a whole lot more, they scored exactly 18 more than we did there, your difference in the final score.

We really missed some easy shots and got into foul trouble early on that hampered us the rest of the way, we might have lost by single digits, who knows.

I'm proud of the effort anyway. We have a decent nucleus to begin the post-Hudson rebuild with.

The one thing the Hudsons did in the championship game vs the first two games was they stayed out of foul trouble. The foul bug bit them with Miami as Monique fouled out and Dominique had 4. Is Sierra Little still with the team - she seemed to have missed the last month of the year after transferring from ODU. Started out really well and then seemd to fall off the face of the earth. Will she be back next year? At 6'2", she and Catrina Green will make the team competitive.

I'm not sure what happened to Little, whether it was injury, getting in Reeves doghouse, or a combination of both. It would be nice to keep her in the fold for sure.
