The most successful program on Liberty Mountain deserves its own forum. We give Coach Green and the Lady Flames their props while breaking down their run to the Big Dance once again.

so, winning games with turnovers is talent? I mean talent would assume few, minimal turnovers?

I believe our resident scribe has stated that we have a dirth D1 talent on our roster.

One thing we have never had a difficult doing is recruiting Post players and have some that are red shirting.
Is Reagan Miller the type of player that can take us to another level? Devon Brown was a nice get,and should have been the type of player to get us there. Too bad she got bit by the injury bug.
Coach Green likes to recruit posts and build around them.

Also remember that even with as many different faces as have come throgh since he took over, He has:

1. never had a losing season (last losing season was 1995-1996)
2. Only lost more than two conference games in one season 1 time
3. Won fewer than 20 games twice
4 Seen the only two wins in school history in the NCAA tournament
5. Coached three Big South POY and two Big South DPOY

Like I said, as frustrating as the issues we have are, the man has to have done something right

talent that isn't disciplined which equals to poor coaching. It does not mean there aren't talented players and that there hasn't been a lot of talented players in this program. The problem has always been a lack of discipline which has always equaled a lot of turnovers.

If we didn't have talent then we wouldn't be able to continually overcome so many turnovers.

I agree Green is not a great coach, but he has a long history of bringing in players that have a lot of talent. That is what has kept us where we are, not his coaching.

You are 1/2 right.

The other half is its women's basketball. There seems to be more turnovers in women's basketball then men's....

Yeah I guess I'm just frustrated. But honestly, both sides have a point, and I know my view isn't popular. But I'd be lying if I said it's how I didn't feel.

And for a certain member on here to compare me to people like TorC or ImBach is the height of obvious irrational capacity.

Its understandable to be frustrated jbock...frankly we were spoiled from all those years where basically before the ball went up for the opening tip, we knew we would win by about 20-30 points.

But we weren't spoiled. We had the talent, and we got the results. Now, we're using the major teams by 30 constantly, and losing to schools like NC Central. NC CENTRAL! I know that was last year but with the exception of Amber Mays, it was the same roster as this year.

I mean, it was pretty much expected that no matter what we did in non-conference, once Big South play rolled around, you could chalk up 14-16 wins or so to our record and look for where to put the next championship banner.

But it's not that way anymore. High Point already has 3-3 star recruits coming in next year. How many do we have?

edit: Never mind I found the 3 we signed.

jbock...that was my point! from about 2001-2005 (and some might even extend it to about 2007), fans pretty much chalked up women's basketball as an automatic win for us (and automatic championship toward the Sasser Cup). Gardner-Webb pushed us for their first few years in conference, High Point took us to the brink in the championship a couple years back and has shown they can beat us, CSU is finally getting their system working and is making a run...its not as automatic as it was then.

You realize you just contradicted your earlier post. Earlier you were trying to make the Big South seem like a big deal, now you intimate it isn't, then later you state that it is getting there.

I was trying to say earlier that despite the issues that we have had (and have been regularly documented on here) for as long as he has been coach, he still managed to win games.

In a very weak Big South I believe is what I believe JB is saying and you agree with him according to your posts.

What I said was the vast majority of Green's wins came against weak BS competition. So yeah, it would be expected to go 14-2 every year. While the 14 wins is impressive, it means nothing until we play actual competition (especially the actual NCAA Tourney). Hopefully that clarified... maybe not.

I do...but what I said with the more recent one is that teams are getting better. High Point has beaten us before and is routinely in the top third of the league right along with us, Charleston Southern is getting things working with their system, and Gardner-Webb (before they graduated everyone and their next of kin) was beating us AND did something no other Big South team had done until last year, and that is beat us in the championship game. Monday night's game is a big one because we have struggled in the Millis Center of late.

Might want to check that.

Radford dominated in the 80s and early 90s, then Liberty from mid 90s till now but High Point may be the future of BSC women's basketball. Their coach has them playing better than Tooey Loy did and their recruits for next year will put them in contention for a few more years. Cheyene Parker will be DPOY hands down as a sophomore and they return all but 1 player for next year.

Purple, since Carey Green took over we have only lost one time in the Big South tournament championship game and that was last year. The loss to Radford was in the semifinals...there was no NCAA berth on the line in that game

Actually it was, because the only way we were getting into the NCAA is to win the BSC tourney. The Big South does not get, nor deserve, any at large bids. Therefore, EVERY game in the tournament has the NCAA bid on the line.
