Okay, I see what your saying. It's not unrealistic since we've done it before. It's just not very likely from a 14-16 seed with the disparity between the top 50 teams and the rest of the country. We don't see this in men's basketball as much due to the closing of the talent gap throughout men's basketball. There remains a wide talent gap in women's BB. I guess that's what I'm saying. I would have liked to see how we would have done with Emily Frazier and Jasmine Gardner in the lineup against Purdue. Unfortunately for us, Purdue peaked late in the season and we laid an egg (not an Easter pun intended). I think in 2 years we will have a really good team and may be able to come away with an NCAA 1st round win. Next year will be a little bit of a challenge since we've been spoiled to always have a freshmen star come in over the last bunch of years (Kisseleva, Feenstra, Frazee, Brown - all highly touted). Hopefully one of the incoming freshmen can be that person.

T or F. A 16 seed has beaten a 1 seed in the WBB Tournament. The thinking should be that it IS likely we win 1st round games. Had we followed up our Sweet 16 run with 1 or 2 first round wins, it would have helped our seedlings the following years

True. Harvard.

If Megan Frazee hadn't gotten injured, and had we not run into a Depaul team bent on revenge, it is possible we could've gotten a more favorable opponent...or more favorable seed...to pull off an upset in 2006.

Yes it would be nice to win a game or 2 in the tournament but let's be realistic. There will always be at least 50 teams more talented than us. The D2 games are home games and are around the time of finals, etc. It allows the team to fine tune their game and get the subs a lot of game experience without the travel and the stress given the demands of school. I would like to see lower level D! games but I imagine it's hard to have teams come to Lynchburg to play us at that time of year.
I disagree. After 15 odd years we should have an expectation of winning a couple a games in the NCAA Tournament. Not a Sweet 16 run every year, although it would be nice, but win a first round game now and then.

Good thing that we have such coaching experts here to let us know that Green's time is up.
My guess is that no matter where we go conference-wise, when Green does leave we won't see the success that he has had on and off the court with our Women's team. If it were up to some here, we'd see a batch of new coaches every year; I guess that is how things look when sitting in a recliner (except for PH, of course).

Huh? I love how my point is somehow irrelevant simply because he's not leaving. I know he's not leaving, so what does that have to do with my point?

I never said your point is irrelevant... it might be, but I didn't say it.

PH- I thought you actually had done some real coaching, as opposed to second guessing LU coached from a recliner. Hopefully that cleared things up for you!
