The most successful program on Liberty Mountain deserves its own forum. We give Coach Green and the Lady Flames their props while breaking down their run to the Big Dance once again.

So I guess ESPN is saying 14 seed for us and I think that is about right. Every year I hope for another return to the sweet 16 or better but that team was special. I just hope we are competitive...

A 14-seed would be huge to put us in a better position to pull off an upset or two. A 13-seed would increase our odds exponentially. But that's probably a reach.

Every year in WBB there are 10 to 15 teams that are on a level where we probably just can´t beat them. Then there is a drop off. What that means is sometimes you can get a ¨beatable¨team with a 14 seed, but almost every year there is a winnable game with a 13. In 05 we were a 13 and got Penn State, and I wouldn´t even call that win an upset. We were a better team. Same with Depaul in the second round. LSU unfortunately was another matter.

Guys, don't forget that after the 11-seed line, the seeding is done with less concern about who is better, and greater awareness of first/second round site proximity to campus.

In other words, if the committee believes Liberty is a 13 seed, but the only 13 a lot remaining is in Seattle. But, there is a 14 slot available in College Park -- then LU is playing the Terps.

This has been discussed as nauseum at the annual WBCA Convention. And generally speaking, not many coaches oppose it.

Even at a 14 seed we're potentially playing the 9th to 12th best team in the country. There is nobody in the top 20 that we can beat, sorry. I liked our chances a little more before Emily Frazier went down. She was playing with great confidence and with great effectiveness. It's not to say things can't happen and we play out of our mind (ie make our shots) and the opposing team takes us too lightly.

Major blemish that sticks out so far: Texas A&M sweeps all three match-ups with Kentucky, yet KY is a 2 and A&M is a 3. Both host, but still!

Because they are the Boilermaker's and we have The Boiler Room?

Probably simply due to the fact that it's as close to a true neutral court matchup as LU has had in years ... other than Louisville in Baton Rouge, but UL was way underseeded that year. Flames had no chance.
