A Liberty win pretty much gives you guys a strangle-hold on the #1 seed. The Flames dominated the first matchup...WU had played great over the last few weeks, but laid an egg yesterday against Campbell. Will be interesting to see if Winthrop is able to put up a better fight than when these two teams played in Rock Hill.

We've had some head-scratching performances this season so we aren't taking anything for granted. Thanks for the insights as always, WEF.

You guys have a very good team. McClanahan will be vying for POY honors with Cheyene Parker. Nunn is a frosh that's putting up numbers like Parker did her frosh year. Choibekova is the trump card. We kept her under control the first match and Nunn, I believe, was in foul trouble from the get go. Our 4 bigs can take a toll on the opposing team who generally may have one legitimate center. Will be a nice game to see after the sweetheart dinner. :woohoo

I think itll be a three or four horse race for PoY: McClanahan, Parker, and Liberty's Omotola and Brown (wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if those four were all on first team all-Big South). I think itll be between Rininger and Nunn with Daiesha Brown of Longwood and Aisha Foy of Radford right there for all-freshman team

I'd say right now it would be Parker - leads the nation in BS, 2nd in nation in RB; 2nd in scoring in BSC and 2nd in steals even though McClanahan was preseason POY. No doubt Omatolu and Brown will be 1st team BSC. FOY (not Foy)is a toss up. although that would be cool if Foy was FOY.

I'm taking this for granted. This will be a 'Get in, get out, and where are we stopping to eat' game

We seem to play better on the road than at home. We win 69-54 but the game turned when Choibekova went out with @ 8 minutes left with an ankle sprain when the game was tied 44-44, I think.

I had noticed the same tendency, Chippy. But I am always good with another win no matter what the score may be.

At some point in the game, it was destined that Winthrop was going to ask its best player, Dequesha McClanahan, to guard Liberty’s top perimeter threat, Devon Brown.
That point came in the game’s final three minutes as the Eagles were trying to claw back from a double-digit deficit.
