The most successful program on Liberty Mountain deserves its own forum. We give Coach Green and the Lady Flames their props while breaking down their run to the Big Dance once again.

This is a spot-on observation. No personal offense to these players, but Danika Dale is not a Division I starter. Nor is LaKendra Washington. And Tolu Omotola looks to have regressed in a major way, though I'm willing to concede that in the two games I've seen this year, Omotola has been matched up against really good bigs (VCU, UVa).

It's been said on here ad nauseum, but the inability to get a handle on the turnover situation is a systematic failure on the part of the coaching staff. This is not something that has been a recent issue. It's been a three-year trend of players not being able to take care of/make smart decisions with the basketball.

Umm you do know that quite a few teams do that (especially playing the big guns) right? Im not saying UVa is one of the big guns but youre making it sound like its something exclusive to us. I will agree with our well reasoned resident scribe that turnovers is a longstanding issue though

That's my point beej. But I guess by that statement, youre just fine with being average.

If average is winning 20 games 10 of 12 seasons and only losing two tournament games (plus losing more than two conference games once)...yeah I'll take it

2-12 (course if that was the only basis for whether to keep one's job then people would have been calling for his head years ago)

If I may interject without getting personal. I don't think anyone is denying the past success. One of the questions I believe being asked is have we capitalized on it? We have beaten UVA, now we lose by 40. So the other question becomes how do you judge success? Coach Green has a very impressive winning percentage and a gaudy amount of Big South rings.
In the NCAA Tournament we are 2-13. Coach Reeves was 0-3. Coach Green is 2-10.
Lang is spot on. We are getting killed out front. We have got to find guards that can compete at a high D1 level.

Because I hit 4 instead of 3 and didn't proof read Play Hockey

If Devon Brown didn't hit 3 3 pointers and convert 3 foul shots on a 3 point attempt in a 5 minute span of the second half it would have been a lot uglier. UVA had a 30+ plus lead until Devon got hot. We use to compete and at times beat pretty good programs. I still believe High Point, Radford, Campbell and Coastal can beat us at this point with the possibility of losing to Winthrop and Charleston Southern if they hit their 3 point shots. There has been a dropoff in talent over the last few years which accounts for poor ball handling - some of these girls can't catch a simple pass or dribble off their own legs, etc. It was painful to watch them play yesterday - especially getting the 2-3 zone shredded by accurate passing and clean ball handling on their part (see 11 turnovers to our 33).

if 2 years from now we are at the same point we are now then I would say yes, look elsewhere. But this program has done so well for over 10 years you have to expect a dip from time to time. It happens even to the best of them BUT if 2 years from now we are still losing by such a large amount then things should change.

I'm sorry, 2 more years of this is too long. Like I said, let's see where we stand at the end of the year.
