I know you're playing devil's advocate based on the conversation of late in this thread but even with my post from yesterday, I dont thin that Kentucky's loss makes us necessarily a worse team...just means that a team that was better than us that day got beat by another team that was better than them that day. Kentucky is a good team...Oklahoma was a better team last night.
My post was blatantly sarcastic.

Our NCAA Tourney record is 2-13. We have been to the 2nd round 1 time. We have been to the Sweet 16 1 time.
Were there Moral Victories in the 13 loses?
Is this "objectively" a great NCAA Tourney record?

Part of it, from my perspective, is thinking "How much better would our record be if we handled business in the regular season better, earned a higher seed, and had very winnable games?"

Close loses to ACC/SEC/CAA teams don't help RPI. Wins do. And if we get our wins in the regular season, we're more likely to get a good seed and a favorable matchup. Imagine if we won a couple of the big games we had this year, and moved up to an 11 or 12. If we competed with UK, we could compete with anyone ranked lower than them (in theory). JMU got a 9 seed, no reason we couldn't be that high if we handled business.
I can't believe you are dumping on those ladies after the year they had with a freshman/sophomore dominated squad. Maybe if someone else had "taken care of business" they wouldn't be stressing out over what they are going to do after graduation.

What he said. The year we were seeded 12th and had to play on ODU's home court or when the selection committee matched us up against DePaul in the first round after we defeated them the previous year instantly come to mind.

WOW. Very much uncalled for. I don't agree with his negativity( ) but that isn't necessary.

Both years Liberty dealt with a major injury that played a role in the seeding, the first to Megan Frazee and the second to Moriah. Had Moriah not been injured and had Liberty not struggled to get out of the Big South tournament that year, I think LU would have been bumped up a line or two.

To preface, I think the RPI is only one of many tools the NCAA Selection Committee uses in selecting and seeding teams for the NCAA Tourney -and a much lesser one at that compared ot how it is perceived by the public. But to correct you, losses to quality teams do in fact enhance a team's RPI, especially one at a level of Liberty. Yes, wins over such teams have a greater positive impact, but losses to quality oppnents are better, because they enhance SOS - a factor of RPI.

My wife and I went to the Women's Final Four several years ago. Every restaurant was packed. HOWEVER, we were able to walk right in and get great seats at Hooters. Honestly. Just a thought.

Wish I had an excuse to head to the Alamo City. Awesome dining town.

I have referenced before my great affection for La Parrillada (assortment of grilled meats including their awesome beef fajitas) at La Margarita in El Mercado. La Margarita is run by the same family and just a couple of doors down from the legendary Mi Tierra. The lattter is a immensely popular for serving up great breakfast late at night after the games and is an excellent panaderia in its own right. Both give you real South Texas flavor & flair.

Down on the Riverwalk, Casa Rio is a decent taqueria on the water within close walking distance to the key hotels. But I recommend saddling up for some Texas BBQ at County Line on the Riverwalk. Its right by Hard Rock so it is easy to find. County Line has top notch babyback ribs & brisket.

There are countless other options for which I would give full recommendations. It is tough to find bad food anywhere downtown even though some of the best greasy taquerias are down by the Air Force bases.

We tried Boudro's last night. Wife had mesquite quail; I had shrimp & crab enchiladas. Very good food, service was avg. However, the best part was the Guacamole for Two. Fresh made table-side. Excellent stuff!

Have a reservation tonight for La Pescadilla on the River.

You were down in the wrong part of the Alamo City (except for the aforementioned greasy spoons on Gen.McMullen). The northside and out toward Canyon Lake are great places to live. And up there you have access to all the good Texas chains like Freebirds, Pappasitos, Pappadeaux, et al.

oh i know...i saw the good stuff at the end of my time there...but was so ready to leave by the time I got to that point that it didn't really matter...nothing personal to the city, i just don't see myself ever having the desire to go back...

Sorry guys. I caved tonight and tried some county line bbq. We started w/ the meat sampler app, which was worth it to see my prissy NJ wife eat a spare rib w/ her hands for the first time. Then I had the brisket. Finished w/ some peach cobbler. Good call, Sly!

Met some friends of Carey Green's (mid-50's couple from Alabama), as well as coaches from PC at tables near ours. Riverwalk is bustling now.

That's funny, because that was the only prereq she gave: "Don't you dare take pictures!"
