Not a pre-requisite but you have to have some sort of special player like that. You can't just be 6-8. You have to be a good player. Katie was both. The girl at Winthrop is way behind the curve in terms of being a dominant player like Katie was. I am just saying you need to even the playing field when playing a higher level of competition and Katie did that for us. Not sure if Megan can do the same thing because their games are completely different. Katie made you change the way you guarded everyone else. Megan doesn't necessarily do that. Again, Megan may end up being the best before it is all over but in terms of how you prepare to stop Liberty, without a dominant post player, you can play Liberty more straight up than when you have to collapse your who team to try to stop one player and give up a ton of defense on the perimeter. Rima went the whole season without anyone contesting a three pointer she took because the person guarding her was always standing in the paint worried about Katie. That is just one example but I could go into a whole lesson on strategy if you want. Nah I won't bore you guys with that but I think my point is clearer now.

NCST, VA Tech, and even UNC she scored double figures but this was a young team. NCST couldn't stop her whatsoever and we had a big lead in that game but our youth took over down the stretch. eventhough LU got slaughtered against UNC she still scored a double-double. The surrounding cast has to step up and the majority of the team were sophmores and juniors who didn't start with those seniors we had back in '05. Got to have guards who can shoot other than just a post player.

I was talking with Olaf Lange today (no relation) out at football practice, and he said Megan was way ahead of schedule. He said she's added five inches to her vertical since the injury and is showing no signs of hesitation playing on the reconstructed knee.

Could she be the first woman in LU history to dunk?

Let's not get carried away with ourselves! There has only been a handful of women to dunk in a game ever!

Come on now ATrain....now her brother was my roomate last year and he has ups....but the girls, especially Megan, focus more on fundamentals than trying to be the next Michelle Snow....if Katie couldn't dunk (someone correct if I am wrong, I never saw her dunk while at LIberty) then I would made a great stride to say the Megan cant.

I never saw Katie dunk, but she wasn't the most athletic girl.

she was a good post player but not athletic. she found out what it is like to go against an athletic post player in Sylvia Fowles and Tillie Willis vs LSU last year.
