not saying we need him but anyone think there is any interest in landing Will Harris from UVA. He is transferring. I know we have used up all our schollies this year but he is a great defensive player and didnt know if anyone had any thoughts on this?

The question really isn't whether we are interested in him, but whether there is any reason he would be interested in us. I'm not aware of any. The kid is from New York, and no indication of any Liberty connection. Personally, while he may be talented, I like the direction McKay is going, recruiting Freshmen. Harris would have to sit out a year and then would have 2 years of eligibility.

Would he have to pay his own way if he sits out a year?

I highly doubt he would come here. Brew and Bann only landed here because one of the former assistant coaches had connections with both programs where he was formerly employed...

Unless there is a direct connection with one of the staff and Will...we can move on...

Apparently he's going to Valpo.

Here's an article listing his final 3 choices:

Harris left Virginia this month because of a lack of playing time. He visited UAlbany on Monday and Tuesday, Valparaiso on Tuesday night and is at Marist today, according to Jason Smith, who coached Harris at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.

That would be a huge pick up for either Albany or Marist...
