Next year's schedule

Yeah, I've been starting a lot of threads, but we're getting to the point where there's not alot to talk about.
We have 18 conference games with the additions of PC and GW, although PC's games do not count in the conference standings. That leaves 12 games if I'm correct for the rest of the schedule.
Coach said earlier in the year that George Mason, Davidson, Depaul, and St Louis were all confirmed for next year. I'm not sure if it's been signed yet or not, but we are supposed to play VCU next year as well.
George Mason will be at home, Depaul and St Louis I'm sure are on the road, VCU will be on the road. I have no clue about Davidson other than it's a home and home.
That leaves 7 games to be scheduled. Does anyone have any info on the others?
What would be your ideal makeup of those 7 other games?

And then a couple cupcakes, should wrap it up pretty much.

Not sure, but he announced it at a coaches show a while back.

I've been under the impression that there likely would be a game somewhere in Texas next season. Hopefully that still remains the case.
I'm all for money games at either UT or A&M but I'd take anything from TCU, SMU, UH, Rice, Baylor or HBU. Texas Tech & UTEP aren't particularly appealing trips to me (sorry, Bozlady) but I'd make them if the Flames were in action.

UTEP seems to be a fan favorite around here

no, it would be sly's 10+ hour drive....
How far is Lubbock away from Austin??

Sly is in Houston, not Austin. According to our friends at MapQuest, Houston to Lubbock is 574 miles = 9 hour drive; Houston to El Paso is 747 miles = 10 hour drive.

Well I happen to know 27 of the 30 games:
18 Conference games
4 in the Vegas Tourney - @ St Louis, @ Depaul in Dec then 2 more based on matchups
2 in a Liberty Mountain Tournament (1 CAA team, one mid-major and 1 division II) Glad they are bring the Mountain Classic back but not sure what it will b e called.
@ Davidson - Curry, Curry and Curry are all excited about that from what they told me (don't step on those names I dropped

)
GMU here
@ ACC school to be named
Maybe @ VCU which would give us actually only 2 games to fill if VCU is true. I haven't heard about that one lately though.

I used to drive from Austin to Lubbock to cover Horns-Red raiders games. Its a lovely drive through the northern Hill Country and you will see like a billion goats. You pass through towns like Lampasas, Brownwood and Abilene as you pull into the South Plains region. It takes anywhere from 5-6 hours depending on how much scenery you want to enjoy.
If the Flames played at either place, I'd catch a super saver from Southwest. But based on what Scar is spilling, it doesn't sound promising for a senior trip home for Smitty.

seems like a solid schedule. I like the thought of a tournament type event here in Lynchburg...since I am staying in town for another year to save up money because its so cheap to live here...I will be able to go to quite a few games next year.

I know its a stretch but I wish we could get a game against Butler or IU. I love my Indiana basketball and I would love to see how the flames would do.

I don't think so...I think I heard/read somewhere that this year was the last time we would play them for at least a while...but I am not 100% sure on that

the old liberty mountain classic!! those were the days. in any regard it looks like a solid schedule, though i hope smitty gets a texas game.

Smitty's mom lives here now, so that could be the reasoning behind not playing in Texas.

i realize that but he still has family in texas, and im sure he would like it.
