I wish BJ would have thrown a punch at the kids with LUCK FIBERTY on their shirts

Great, and much needed, win. CCU lost, so I guess we play VMI.

Congratulations - Go Flames!

So what's up with McLean playing so soft lately? The last couple of games he's seemed unmotivated. And Lynch-Flohr just had his way with him all game. He was banging and Ace wanted no part of that, apparently. Come on dude, it's your senior night. Maybe the whole team can find a reason to play hard in the tournament. Pretty good game though. Smith, obviously can't be stopped. He needs to just take over more often. BJ is looking like our PG for next year. He's really showing some hustle.

Maybe he's tired. He's logged a lot of minutes. Either way, it's time to man up. Tournament time.

BJ was terriffic tonight, but his previous 3 games were just awful. Hopefully he is back on track.

Our 4 Seniors scored a total of 11 points.

Alex got outplayed offensively by Lynch-Flohr, but he did have 10 rebounds to lead both teams.

LOL, there was one guy with a "LUCK FIBERTY" shirt, and he sounded like a lead singer of a death metal band.....When he went over to the LUnatics to say something, I couldn't understand what was going on.....And there was only two Rat-turd dudes standing for their team! What support, hahahaha!

I love the kid with the Luck Fiberty shirt. I talked to him at Radford and talked to him quite a bit tonight. We talked a couple times just to make sure things didn't get out of hand, etc.

Was it just me or was there alot of drama in the Vines tonight?
There was the whole fight thing
then the hyphen name issue
and of course the end of the game fiasco with the mom thing
maybe im wrong but it just seemes like alot of drama for one game

those who were in the first two rows of the student section know what im talking about

The hyphen named situation was something that I didn't know about before the game. The kid in the Luck Fiberty shirt (I still don't know his name) came over to me and just said that there was a divorce of some sort, that it's a really bad situation that was starting to upset him and he didn't want to get mad about it and start something. That was the most mature way a possible altercation between fans has been handled that I've been around. The thing at the end of the game was something we couldn't have possibly known about before the game. It was something that once we found out, we put a stop to. Everyone that I talked to, from game management to athletic department staff members, said that we handled it the way we should of and that we had no possible way of knowing what had happened.

Bigred got most of it right. Here's exactly what happened:

Eric Hall, #33, was waiting to check in. One of our members yelled, "Hey, your mom called, she's real proud of you." He turned around and yelled at her, "You said what?" To us, it looked like we had got in the kid's head and found something to get him off his game, just like the Buckwheat thing against CSU and the Little Lamb thing against PC.

Once word spread through our section, a group started chanting "Momma, momma" at the player. He was pulled from the game and was noticeably angry on the bench. He said something to a coach, the coach told Greenberg, Greenberg told the ref, and the ref told game management. By this time, we had found out that Hall's mother had died. I was trying to take control of it and apologize simply because we had no way of knowing that. I told the event staff (the same guy we got into it with earlier this year), I told Kevin Keys, and tried to tell one of their assistant coaches (Ali Ton) that was yelling at us that we were sorry and had no way of knowing.

After the game, we tried to apologize to Hall and he had to be restrained from running in the stands after us. Coach Ton was standing there looking at us and we tried to apologize to him but he wouldn't listen to it and went off on us. After the game, we were waiting around in our section just like any other game, and Coach Ton told us we needed to leave because if he came out and saw us he'd likely go after us. Granted, we weren't trying to start anything, we were just standing around talking.

I found out later that Hall's mother died when he was seven. He has "Momma's Boy" tattooed on his shoulder. I felt bad about it then and still feel bad about it now. I told Jerry Jr and Becki about it and they both said that we had no way of knowing before hand. If I could do something to make it right, I would, but there's nothing I can do. It's my group that I started and that I'm the leader of, therefore it comes back on my shoulders. If there are any Radford fans reading this, please know that we're all extremely sorry for what happened and that we didn't mean to cross that line. If I had a way of apologizing to Hall, I would do it. We can't take it back. What happened happened and what was said was said. However, I feel terrible about it and don't want an isolated incident from tonight to reflect on us as a group.

Edit: Apparently bigred edited his post, but there's the story anyways.

It was going to get mentioned eventually. I just wanted the real story to get out before someone who only heard bits and pieces could post it.

It's unfortunate what happened. If I could change it I would. The fact of the matter is it happened and we tried to apologize. All we can do now is move on.

Super, Eric Jermane Hall is on facebook. He's a Radford student, and he's holding a basketball in his facebook pic. If that's him, maybe you could apologize to him there.

Yeah....pretty much.....I feel bad for the guy....I can kinda imagine how he feels, I haven't seen my mom in about 12-13 years....but we were never really close, so it dosen't bother me much.....but of course I can't speak for him

I could do that, but I just don't think it would do much good, especially not right now. We hit a nerve with him and by his reaction, the last thing he wants right now is a message from me trying to justify it all and apologize. I talked to the Radford guys who we were good with after the game and asked them if they see him later this week to tell him we didn't know and were sorry. I just want to let it go and move on from it.

IF ANYONE FROM OUR GROUP READS THIS, PLEASE DO NOT SEND HIM A MESSAGE ON FACEBOOK.
