Ok so let's get this going quickly so we can all get this out of our system by Tuesday

Liberty loses 79-68 @ Longwood (again...and the losing streak continues down in Farmville...)

Didn't rebound or defend...

Didn't shoot well after about the first half of the first half...

Oh well, bring it home and take care of business.

Bad night for the Big South... Flames and Eagles get beat...

Bracket Busters mean nothing in our league.

just getting back from farmville and first i will give longwood credit for taking it to our arses. they simply wanted it more. we did not play defense, we did not rebound, it was pitiful. we seemed uninterested in the game. this is the first time i will be critical of RMK. his substitution patterns i did not understand. playing the walk-ons and tim layer boggled my mind. i guess it's not the fact that they played because they played hard, but there was zero continuity. playing guys 3-4 minutes at a time just seemed to not give us any flow. RMK coached like he was frustrated tonight. if our guys cannot get up for longwood we should not even have them on the schedule. we really played like we did not care. TJ is obviously in RMK's doghouse because he played only in the second half for 16 minutes, and it seemed RMK was reluctant to to that. i sincerely hope that our attitudes change when we return home for two big games. if we play like we did tonight, we will lose out. if we can recapture some of the home magic we have had this year, then we can rebound. i am very curious to see how this team rebounds against VMI tuesday.

Embarrassing.

what is going on with this team?

Time for Ritchie to step up here and get these guys heads back into the season.

RIDICULOUS to continue to lose to LONGWOOD year after year. Until we start to win the ones we should win on a consistent basis, this program will not have turned the corner.

I still have faith in coach and the guys- but this is not a good sign.

As I recall, RD didn't do any better against Longwood last year.

As I recall...NONE of the LU coaches have done that well against Longwood at their place.

everyone.. please ignore checkmate. im also tired of hearing how we just don't do well at longwood. true we have never won there, so how about everyone treating the game with a sense of urgency. it's like our fanbase saying "oh it's just longwood, i will skip the game" the whole mindset is unacceptable. even when longwood is playing their best we need to be two steps better..end of story. this was a game for us to fine tune some things and get ready for the final push to the tournament and we set ourselves back a bit. man i though a good night's sleep wold help, but apparently it has not.

These threads are ridiculous.

It's obvious that this was a meaningless game. It's apparent that coach McKay
approached it that way as evidenced by the 30 combined minutes for Layer,
Spencer, Monroe, and Holland.

If TJ only played 15 minutes, I'd lean toward the idea that coach thought that
he needed a rest rather some of the other interpretations that I've read here.

We have two upcoming home games that we need to win, and after that the
conference tourney, which is wide open by the way. Winthrop is looking very
vulnerable to me.

Seriously, you all would have been better off staying home last night, watching
Winthrop get schooled at home on national TV by Davidson. Steph Curry looks
like he's got NBA all-star potential.

Right now, I'm having visions of another Curry. The Seth Curry era cannot come
soon enough for me.

Having said that, we're still in this thing and may end up making some noise before it's
all said and done. TJ, Smith, and Ace are as good as any trio in this league, and I'll take
our coaching staff, without hesitation, over any in the big south.

Embarassing. I'm hopeful we will not play them next year. Just embarassing.

I think coach played this with a mindset of who cares, which is not a good message to send to the players. Maybe he was trying to send a different message, but from the outside looking in that's what it looks like. Alex and Anthony were both beasts, and we still lose

Again, why take this game so hard? What does a win at Longwood mean, especially
this late in the season?

It was nothing more than an exhibition/warm-up for our final two conference games.

Time to look ahead.

It doesn't mean anything, but I don't know if that's a good mentality to have for our team. From a fan's perspective, the game means nothing other than bragging rights. As a player, I don't think it's that easy to be on for one game, then turn it off for another. With that being said, this game doesn't matter as long as we win our next 2 and get our confidence up.

And the Randy Dunton era ended way too soon.

Seeking bragging rights with a tiny program from Farmville would be a major step back for a program that has two NCAA appearances.

Again, this Longwood thing is meaningless and hopefully our last visit there.

I understand why people are upset about not winning in Farmville, and I am frustrated too, but this is one time I am with dox. As long as our team has the mental toughness to put it behind them, the Longwood loss is meaningless.

Yes, its meaningless, but we shouldn't be losing to Longwood. We are better than them as a program, but we have yet to prove it on the floor in Farmville. That's not a shot at any coach because NO LU coach has won there.

With all this RD talk I'm reminded of a song:

There's no use looking back, because what's done is done, and there's no way to know what might have been.

So leave the past in the past. If you are a true LU fan you will respect what the administration has done and move on and support regardless of who is coach. If not, it is/will be damaging to the program for years to come. I was an RD supporter when he was here, and I'm now a McKay supporter because first and foremost I'm an LU supporter.

Bannister was benched for a half because he failed to meet an academic standard earlier in the week.

This was a lesson game for the guys you could see by how much PT guys got that normally dont...he benched the players that want to be selfish b/c he can b/c it was a meaningless game but hopefully lessons were learned

Did anyone else catch the post game interview when a little girl fell playing on the floor right in front of RM and you could hear him throw down his mic and yelling "we need a doctor! We need a doctor!" and JE said RM was running trying to find one b/c the little girl was losing lots of blood. The first thing when RM got back JE asked him about it and RM didnt even answer him but said "we need to pray for this little girl" then led a short pray for her quick healing! Wow...that really impressed me a lot, he's a great guy with a great grasp on life...our MBB program is in good hands and he'll lead them to where we need to be...I'm telling you this guy is the real deal...a great guy great coach, great family man and a mentor to MANY other coach's on campus...there are a lot of people the rely on his wisdom
