Yeah, we need to pull for High Point to lose from here on out to hope for 3rd.

Especially impressive considering it was a quiet night for Alex with only 9 points and 6 boards. Looks like their focus on him opened some other things up.
7 assists and only 1 turnover to go along with 11 points for TeeJay.

Nah, we just need to take care of business. Win out and let the other teams do whatever they do. We just need to win. a 4 seed is just fine for me, if we go in with momentum.

A very crucial win at this stage of the season in having to rebound from that disappointment of loosing at home vs Winthrop and with the possiblility of loosing today our seedings in the tourny would have cost us a home game. Great job today and we should win out barring the unexpected.

3rd is very possible if we win out. While High Point has no more games with the top 4, they are on the road for 4 of their last 5 games.
Bold prediction: The road to the championship will once again go through Rock Hill.

Here is the recap from Chris in Conway ...
Smith perseveres as LU notches key win

Lynchburg News & Advance
February 16, 2008
CONWAY, S.C. - The first missed shot doesn't usually sink a shooter's confidence. The sixth missed shot in succession though? That tends to put a dent in a player's ego.
But not Anthony Smith's. After the Liberty wing missed his first six looks Saturday at Coastal Carolina, he sat quietly on the bench. The coaching staff didn't shower him with pep talks. His teammates didn't shout words of encouragement.
"We knew he'd come back," Liberty's B.J. Jenkins said.
And he did, recovering from his early slump to score a team-high 17 points, helping the Flames secure an important 65-51 victory at Kimbel Arena. The victory gives Liberty a season-sweep of the Chanticleers, which could play a key role in tiebreaking procedures come Big South tournament time. The top four teams earn home games in the tourney quarterfinals.

It seems like our defense has covered Leasure like a suit!

Hey fumble don't steal my lines

Mine was a little different than yours but I said something similar on the air when they came to the Vines. He looked terrible yesterday. Chris Lang was there so he might be able to add more but I thought some of his shots were not even close even when he was open.

Leasure rushed a lot of shots, no doubt. He and Breeze were CCU's only offensive options yesterday.

missed the whole thing, but thats a great stat ^^^
One question: in all seriousness- can anyone explain why, at this stage, we are still so maddeningly inconsistent on offense- going up by 10+ and then giving up a big run to the opponent and letting them back in the game? Is it talent, young players, new offensive schemes, what?
