A rematch of the tightly contested game just a couple weeks ago. This game could go a long way in determining who grabs the 3rd seed in the tourney.

Hey guys, first let me be the first to say feel free to use the word testicle in a descriptive sense up here, although hopefully we won't have any wardrobe malfunctions.

We could have gone one of 2 ways after the tough loss, especially Cruz after dropping the ball (literally) and fortunately we've won 2 straight and Cruz is averaging 12 points 7 boards and 5 blocks in those games, including a 16 pt 7-7 from the field effort against VMI Saturday which suprised me because I thought he would fold. I'm excited for the game as it should be another great one that comes down to the wire. We really played well in the 2nd half Saturday and that should build some confidence and momentum but with us this years its times like now in which we throw a random bad game out there. I like our chances but I doubt we can keep TeeJay down twice and if we don't guard Mclean again it could be a very long night. Hopefully everyone will come out healthy and it will be a good clean game.

Hardest part about playing High Point? - their HIGH SCHOOL Gym. Nice facility, but small gym. It's a big change for the opposing team, as it is a big change for HP to shoot at the Vines Center.

Cruz has talent, I am sure, but if Alex isn't in foul trouble, he is gonna dominate the kid. Cruz is a big weak post who can block shots (Russ Monroe anyone?). I am not saying he is bad, because he is good at what he does. VMI would be the perfect team for him to build confidence against. But I just don't think he will be a factor.

AZ, however, will be a factor. We didn't stop him in the second half at the game in the Vines, so we will need to play more like we did in the first half against him, not the second half. Jefferson, as well. Need to make sure he doesn't jack up those threes.

I agree completely and there have been some rumours around campus for the last year or so that the powers that be are in the early stages of planning for a new arena. given the size of the campus and surrounding area, I doubt it would be huge but I'm guessing within the next 5-7 years HPU has a new gym around 3000-4000 seating capacity. We pretty much sell-out any game that matters (I haven't heard if the game this week is sold-out, but we've sold out every conference game besides CSU) and our new president is all about bigger and better and the chance of making more money with a bigger and nicer gym.

And I also agree about Cruz not being able to handle yall down low, the only thing I want him to be able to do is catch the ball when he has a open dunk to send it to OT :)

would be great both for you guys AND the league to see some facility improvements at your place.

Oh- and a football team. 8)

It's so hard to stop AZ. Rell was playing great defense against him in our first matchup, but AZ is just that good.

I agree about the defense Rell played against AZ in the Vines. He was on him like funk on a skunk, but he still made the shots. Reid is not big, and really not all that great an athlete. What he is is strong, smart, skilled and tough as nails. The guy is just a baller.

This'll be the first road game I've missed by choice this year. I had every intention on going, but with the way the weather is supposed to be, I just don't think it's worth it. I missed classes yesterday because I was sick, and can't afford to do it again tomorrow. Sometimes school and health have to outweigh being a fan. I hate it, but oh well.

That last line was priceless.

Does this mean we can get some LUnaticvision working on the 4:30 newser?

BTW does anybody else feel like the clock is standing still this afternoon?

What else was I supposed to say? Blame God for the rain that we need insanely bad? It's one of those things I have no control over.

Super, I'm not sure I understand: are you saying that you're skipping the roadtrip to High Point because you don't want to drive your Compass in the rain? Or is it mostly because you're sick? Or a combination of the two?

It's because it's a 2:15 drive in the ran and high winds when I'm already sick and have class at 7:40 in the morning. Driving in that type of weather takes a lot more energy than if it was sunny and all of that. People can say what they want, but graduating is more important to me than a game against High Point.
