A few rebounds for us and another possession and we may win this one.
Gotta look to High Point now.

I hate loosing to Radturd. Have to appreciate the comeback and the never quit attitude just when the game seemed out of reach. Just not our night.

We scored 62 points in the second half. Our free throw percentage looks good because teeJay was 16-16, but we missed the front end of 3 1 and 1s in the second half which probably cost us the game.

TeeJay with 19 points, 9 assists and 16-16 from the line
BJ with 21 points.
Anderson had 14, this guy's becoming a baller
Anthony and Alex 10 a piece.
We got outrebounded 42-28, that's the difference in the game by far.

Whoever did the game tracker for Radturd did a sorry job. He was screwing up all game.

Even on the road, that's a badddd loss.

Proud of the comeback our guys attempted. Anderson is quickly becoming a seriously good player for our team. I didn't think he'd ever be much more than a catch and shoot guy but he's stepped up his game big time.

Looks like Im the only one to stab at it tonight.....

We expected the rebound difference, Radford has 3 somewhat tall guys in the lineup all game

Not sure what happened, but Ace got benched early 2nd half. It didnt seem as if he played too well on Defense, just my thinking(although stats may tell otherwise). Honestly I felt Russ played better when he was in, especially on defense, although he was only in for 4 to 5 minutes tops.

Terrible shooting and ball handling in the 1st, 18% from 3, and TeeJay had 3 travels within 3 minutes in the first.

Smitty's Free Throw abilities make me want to puke. Not just this game, but every close game he seems to find a way to freaking kill us. Between Coastal and this game he just loves missing FT's. 1-4 plus at least one(I think 2 but Im prolly wrong) of the misses being the front of a 1+1. This isnt one of those "He cost us the game" rants, because thats obviously not true. But at the same point hes gotta make them sometime.

TeeJay 16-16 from the line sounds much better. Although he was sloppy at times he at least came through in some ways.

I dont think Radford played the same Defense for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Homecoming crowd for Radford was good, they were loud, and we were quiet in the second. Wait Im not allowed to talk about the crowd - thats for LUnatics thread

The 2 minute catchup worked pretty well, but at the same point we just didnt shoot well at all. Any time in the 2nd if we hit a 3 theyd come back and 24 would hit something. They shot lights out when they needed a bucket.

SCAR I got a stat sheet again (Good for Wendy's)

We should have never lost this game, but oh well, stuff happens. We shot poorly tonight and played catchup the rest of the game. Well have good games and bad ones and this was a very bad game.

Side note: Tim Layer isnt good enough to start as a GOON

Alex was in early foul trouble in both halves. Also, in his postgame comments, Coach said he wasn't being as aggressive as he wanted him to be.

Schfourteenteen hit on something which has been annoying me for over a year, which is Smitty's poor foul shooting in the clutch. He has missed the front end of one and ones several times in crucial situations.

In general, our role players performed well last night (especially Rell & Jeremy) and our 2 leading scorers did not produce.

While Alex has managed to find a way to score against double teams, he has not made opponents pay for it by finding the open man. Too many turnovers and not enough assists. Rmc mentioned his 4 early turnovers as part of the reason he only played 21 minutes last night.

I know that Alex and Smitty had been our leading scorers til this point, but honest, BJ is really turning into our most complete player. He and TeeJay wil be important for us going forward, because they can CREATE scoring opportunities. Everyone else on the teams has to have a shooting opportunity created for them, because even Smitty doesn't seem to be creating much for himself anymore.

BJ cuts to the basket, creates shots for himself, and is just an overall good player. TeeJay has proven that he has the moves to get past the people defending him and get through the zone defenses and get to the basket and draw a foul, and he is hitting his foul shots. Combine those two with Rell, who has been shooting pretty well, and I think we should wean ourselves off of Alex as an offensive threat, since obviously something got into the kids head, or his knee is bothering him. I am not saying get rid of him. I love Alex, he knows how to score around the hoop. I just think we need to work more with our slashing, creating guards, with drive and dish to Kyle, Rell, Jeremy, and Smitty. Even tho I think Smitty needs to play more like a 4 and get down low and get some boards, since he has great hops.

But anyways, we lost, to Radford, and I wasn't happy with that. But we move on, on to High Point.

16 for 16 from TJ

That's incredible, but not enough to break any LU record

Gabe Martin 18 for 18 vs FLA ATL in 2002
Hildebrand 19 made FT's vs Chuck South in 94.

Otherwise that loss will sting even more down the stretch!

Even Randy won there last year

:exactly

He came back in briefly, and that's when he tried to make some moves on the baseline and stepped out of bounds, and was out of the game for good.

I don't know about you guys, but I really appreciated Ritchie after the game.

He came over, shook hands, and in a calm, quiet demeanor, he said...

"Gotta do better next time, guys, sorry about that."

Alex had 2 rebounds. When was the last time he had less then 8. that was the difference. And no one connecting on the 3's. We looked awful no fight in us. Hope we get it back before Wednesday.

Not true.

There were times that they seemed lackluster, but there was some fight in this team. BJ's steal when their PG was looking to the bench, BJ trying to save a stolen pass out of bounds, well, I guess BJ had some fight in him. TeeJay, too. Never gave up.
