From libertyflames.com

Men’s basketball sophomore forward Armon Jones will be out indefinitely, as announced by head coach Ritchie McKay.

Jones (Atlanta, Ga.) will not be in uniform for tonight’s game against High Point due to a prior medical condition that dated back to last season.

“We want to do what’s in the best interest for Armon’s health,” said McKay.

There is no timetable for Jones’ return.

Its a lot of Pressure wearing TB's Jersey... obviously more than he planned... His jersey just puts off greatness and if your not ready you could get hurt.

On a more serious note, Armon just made the football team... I doubt its an injury.

I think Armon is going to make on heck of a football player. He is a good athlete.

Dominique went out for football, not Armon.

I talked to Armon after the game. He is in pretty good spirits nonetheless. I don't know what his issue is but I prayed with him. He would appreciate then from all the fans and hopefully he'll be ready to roll in 2008-09.

He'll be ready to roll in 08-09 if he's here.

WOW...a complete LIE was issued by someone about Armon's situation...Dont sugar coat it...its a LIE...Armon is NOT INJURIED..point blank..if I was a reporter I would ask Coach McKay what Armons injury is...and why is Armon playing in the Lahaye Center if he is "injuried"...They LIED and didnt let this young man at least finish his season...thats CLASSLESS..regardless if he is performing up to LU BASKETBALL STANDARDS you dont cut a kid in the middle of the season ...then say oh its a medical condition...Richie McKay is CLEANING HOUSE...point blank...and I pray that Armon finds somewhere to play ASAP..thats just disrespectful for them to lie about the situtation...the should have said ...we cut Armon Jones mid-season after all of his hard work and dedication because we werent happy with his performance on the court even though he is young we arent investing in coaching this young man and have decieded to throw him under the train..thanks

There's two sides to the story. What about the side that says he can't get in shape, doesn't hustle at practice, and is always getting in trouble during practice? That was the story on him last year. Who's to say it's changed?

I appreciate TROY's passion but ya gotta watch the "L" word brother.

obviously, he's close to the situation and I can understand his feelings, but you really need to be careful w/ that.

Hey, I dont know the deal about Armon and Im not gonna claim to. I know that whatever the situation, he needs to be prayed for. If he ends up gone, pray he finds a place to fit in. If he DOES have a legitimate health issue, pray that he gets it worked out. If he has issues with attitude (and lying), pray that God works in his heart and maybe losing his spot on the team is God telling him to take a hard look in the mirror and fix those problem areas. He is just as much a person as the rest of us and he obviously has something going on in his life. Id rather pray for him than just spend time basically trashing him on a message board (whether its warranted or not)

Heart issue, according to McKay.

If people want to believe otherwise, whatever. But that's what the coach told me Friday.

Wow troy, cleaning house? Please. McKay would not cut a kid mid-season.

Like, cardiac heart, or Rocky IV heart?

That's exactly what I was thinking, LUconn. But i didn't want to be the one to type it. But my understanding is that it is the medical condition.

It may very well be the medical condition. Armon is a great guy. Ive had a chance to talk to him on a few occasions around campus and I hope he at least sticks around and finishes his degree if all this stuff about him not being back on the team in 2008-09 is true.

All the best to Armon, hopefully he will get the treatment he needs.

Bro look back to the previous posts over the last 2 years...if he's not injured then I do wish they would have just said what we all have been waiting for "he was let go by the team" I mean it appears your pretty close to the situation Troy a little to close...I wish you would go to the practices and watch this kid you can tell he was going to get corrected before it even happens b/c he is the only one just not getting it

If I was Armon I'd want people to think that I was sitting out b/c of injury rather than the fact I just cant play....we'll see what DI school he transfers to
