It means you have to talk to 4'2'' Kyle Kallander and listen to him moan and groan for at least an hour.....this in turn causes a massive headache, the need to want to punch something and the thought of " how is the heck did you ever get this job" - with the threat of an actual visit and weekend stay in Lynchburg if you dont' stop........

Did he get his official call slip to KK's office?

So how does this reprimand thing work? Does the great and powerful KK issue them at will, or is there a committee that meets? Also, is there a court of appeals for these things?

Will Coach get extra penalties if he does not take down the Couples Thread?

Public slap on the wrist right now. If he does it again, he'll get some type of fine or suspension.

I thought McKay was explaining why he got the technical, which was related to him telling the refs they blow. Was he supposed to lie?

First of all the first time it happens... Jon is pretty much right. Its a public slap on the wrist, but youre now watched even harder by the league and you can lose practices, coaching games, but thats like REALLY BAD. The extreme is like loss of schollies and fines and stuff like that. Its nothing to worry about Richie can control himself.
...all I want to know is is the Big South watched the tape? because if they did they wouldnt do this to him and if they didnt they need to be firing people for not doing their job. Ive watched the Film at least 20 times and I still get mad everytime, its so obvious from a camera. Bunch of Idiots.

The conference has done this in the recent past. Byron Samuels missed games on 2 different occasions for behavior on the bench. Gregg Marshall was reprimanded for his behavior in one of those Byron Samuels/Radford situations. I remember Radford's assistants coaching a few games in a row and I asked Troy Manns and Kevin Martin who were Radford assistants at the time who's coaching record the games went on and they told me it still goes on Byron's record. This is not a big deal but I can't say that I didn't see this one coming a mile away. I told SJ and TBGBGBGBGB that last Saturday on the phone. I didn't think Ritchie over stated anything in his post game comments, but I do know that any critcism of the officials is not tolerated by this league or any other for that matter. That is just the way it is. I remember when William and Mary jobbed us and then Rocco got on the Radio and wouldn't say a thing about the situation. One of the reasons is that he is a remarkable human being but the other is because he was aware of the repercussions. Not slamming Ritchie in any way but the only thing he could have really done to not get a fine after being asked what happened was to not talk about it. Explaining what happened even in a calm voice is going to be perceieved as public criticism of the officials. It does make you mad that Layer and McKay both got unfair technicals in a game that close on the road. I told other coaches in the business that I know about the Layer tech and they couldn't believe it. No official should call that!

I had a run in with Ray Natilli back when I was coaching similar to coach Layer's situation. Only I was really heated. He pointed to the bench and yelled at me to get back there and I just said, at least walk over here with me so we can talk. He had his whistle in his mouth about to tee me so I turned and stormed away. My point is that even Natilli, who is known for having a quick tee whistle, didn't bang me for that exact same situation. The ref should have at least warned coach Layer to go back to the bench. Giving a tech in that situation seems like a joke to me. Haize and GMTM can weigh in on this and may even disagree with me but I don't think you need to bang an assistant with a tech during a timeout unless he is throwing a tantrum which clearly coach Layer was not.

Maybe Ritche wanted the Big South and others to hear his criticism, hoping that something would change/happen.

In Rocco's case, those were not BS officials so it would have done no good to compound the situation. Ritchie made a stink in the first BS game of the season which is going to force the conference officials to pay attention to what he was talking about for the rest of the year. Smart move.

This is beside the point, but does anybody have a copy of this? I would love to see it.
