Rivals Profile

Here is the previously mentioned Rivals story from the Bojangles Shootout in Charlotte over the holidays:
NCPreps.com wrote:Carson Sullivan, the local MVP of the tournament, scored 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 from 3, 3-4 FT) for Charlotte Christian and used the event as a spring board onto the national stage. He's a crafty and gritty kid that plays with some toughness that exceeds the face value. His perimeter game is tough and his ability to put the ball on the floor is undervalued.

Sullivan, a great student, cemented himself onto the mid-major radar this weekend. Liberty, William & Mary and Charleston Southern are counted amongst those that are interested in him early.

Curry's junior teammate Carson Sullivan isn't too shabby either. The 6-foot-2 guard has a homing device from three and buried it from behind the arc with regularity. He showed off some craftiness with the ball, too.

Sullivan, a shooter with grades, is no stranger to scoring. He scored 30 points (11-17 FG, 7-8 FT) on Friday and poured in 35 points on Thursday night.

Sullivan said Liberty is the only school showing interest at the moment

Prior to Dec. 27, there was one school on Carson Sullivan's recruiting list. A month later, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound combo guard from Charlotte (N.C.) Christian says things are quite different.

"I went from Liberty," he says, "to 20 other people."
Charlotte, College of Charleston, Appalachian State, William & Mary and Elon round out his top five, he said. The local school, the 49ers, is looking strong with Sullivan.

"I'd say they are recruiting me the hardest and more than anyone else," he said. "They send me a lot of mail and I've been to two games now. They've been doing really well and they are trying to get their coach resigned so that is a big thing. If I could pick a place that I'd like to get an offer from, that would be one that I would definitely take a serious look at because it is in town and people that I grown up with go there. I've grown up with that program. College of Charleston is probably the second biggest one on my list.

"I'd love to play in the Southern Conference. I'd love to play for UNC-Charlotte or in (the CAA). I'd love to play in one of those three conferences and Bojangles was the main reason why I've heard from schools in those conferences."

It's real cool that he's loyal to who was on him first though.

Agreed, if he doesn't want to be here then I don't want him.

I can't imagine that too many people hear this line every day.

Isn't Bojangles an LU sponsor, too?

I thought it was a Big South Sponsor, or maybe that was awhile ago.....but at some point recently it was affiliated with them somehow.

Have any of those teams offered him?

No one has offered. Generally it is only Top-100 type of players that are getting offers right now unless a coach is gaga over some kid. The next few months will change everything as far as scholies are concerned.

What is that supposed to mean?

Trying not to judge the kid too fast, but it certainly does seem he jumped off the ship in a sudden hurry when other schools showed interest, which might certainly indicate he wasn't too excited about LU to begin with. Another possibility is that he's not thrilled at the prospect of being "Robin" for another 3 years. Now where have I heard that?
