Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Justin Young got a good look at Seth Curry over three days at this tournament. After Curry's 26-point, six-rebound, three-assist, two-steal performance Saturday, Young said he likes Curry a little more than North Carolina's prized recruit, 6-foot-1 point guard Larry Drew from Woodland Hills, Calif.

In fact, Stephen said, at the same age, Seth is a better player.
"I know it sounds a little crazy to say it," Young said. "But we missed the boat on his brother and history has shown that with these Curry boys, they come on late. Seth is on a big upswing right now."
Two years ago, I thought Seth Curry would be lucky to earn a college scholarship. Now, I'm starting to think that -- like his brother -- he's a major-college recruit going to a small school. As recruiting gurus like Young like to say, Liberty's getting a steal.

Carson Sullivan, the local MVP of the tournament, scored 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 from 3, 3-4 FT) for Charlotte Christian and used the event as a spring board onto the national stage. He's a crafty and gritty kid that plays with some toughness that exceeds the face value. His perimeter game is tough and his ability to put the ball on the floor is undervalued.
Sullivan, a great student, cemented himself onto the mid-major radar this weekend. Liberty, William & Mary and Charleston Southern are counted amongst those that are interested in him early.

The only quote I've heard him say close to that was that this is his best FIRST class he's ever had. Yes, that is great, but let's not blow it out of the water.
Curry let it roll, scoring 14 points, including all three of his threes, in the third and broke the game open. His defense on Cornelius was even more impressive. Curry's length bothered the future George Mason guard. Cornelius shot a cold three of 23 and had six turnovers in the game.

“I can’t remember ever having a class like the one we were able to attract our first year at Liberty,” said McKay..."Typically it takes a little bit of time to establish yourself in an unfamiliar region of the country,” added McKay. “What Liberty University offers a student-athlete is really reflected in the caliber of the individual and the caliber of the player we were able to sign.”That 2nd sentence is the one that clarifies to me that he's talking about his first class at a school. Don't get me wrong, it's a big statement either way, but the difference between the 2 can be huge as well.

I think this will be a good recruiting class, but I have thought that before and it never panned out - I think only time will tell. Lets see what happens when they get here and start to play. It's hard to know how good someone is until they get here - Monroe was supposed to be a stud coming in and look how that turned out. McMasters is not the immediate answer - he is not D1 ready right now and Curry is a small guard - just because his brother is making noise at this level - doesn't mean he is the second coming of Dell.

Really, out of all of our recruits, he's the one I've seen the least about. Where does he fit here at LU?
Curry, McMasters, and Floyd appear to be the cream of this crop.
I hate you Merry Christmas :D  May[…]
