forgot to mention * indicates scholarship. And depending on academics this year, 1 more may not get one either.

Man we're gonna be small next year.

It's true, 5 Forwards on a 15 man roster. And at least one of those is an outside shooter.

Interesting take LUconn. You're predicting 3 current scholarship players won't be back: Armon Jones (I agree), Justin Holland (He hadn't crossed my mind as possibly leaving, but he could, I bet he stays to help improve grad rate considering he'll be a senior), and Ozren Bjelgoric.

Armon Jones- I agree with you, he's been here 2 years and Soup is getting playing time ahead of him, how would the 2 freshman not?
Justin Holland- He hadn't crossed my mind as possibly leaving, but he could. I bet he is retained to help improve grad rate considering he'll be a senior.
Oz- I don't see this either, I believe he is still in line to redshirt and I'm sure McKay saw something in him that would enable him to give him a scholarship.

You have 2 current walk-ons getting scholly's: Kyle and Spencer James.

We can all agree Kyle deserves and probably will get a scholly, but Spencer? What's your rationale?

How does that generally work with so many guards? Aren't there supposed to be some "C"s in there somewhere, or are we building for a specific strategery?

is he a walk on? I guess take away his scholly and assume we lose one due to the new academics rule.

Not too many C's in college.

As far as I'm aware he is.

What is your rationale behind Justin and Oz?

McKay has too many recruits coming in to keep everybody currently on the roster. From what I understand, Oz is really not very good. There was mention of RM offereing to him without having seen him play in person. Might as well not make the same mistake twice. Holland is good, but right now he's the odd man out. He's good enough to earn a scholarship elsewhere though so might as well not stick around. From what I've heard (which I suppose is not a reliable way of getting information) Ritchie has made it clear that scholarships are a 1 year agreement and that most of these players were a previous coach's, not his.

Nice way to stoke the fires on the first day back to work for most of us, LUconn.

I'm not sure I agree with your original list as a whole, but I see you working.

I agree that there likely will be some attrition this summer as some players choose to go elsewhere for more playing time. I also agree that Ohman needs a 'ship and right now I don't know where it is coming from based on our current roster.

Assuming we give Ohman a scholly, we have to lose 2 other scholly players. We can all agree on Armon, the other is up for debate.

Most likely it will be either Oz or Justin. I would think Oz because Justin, as long as he's on track with his grades, would be a quicker fix for our grad rate.

Here's my estimated starting lineup if everyone is healthy:

PG BJ Jenkins
SG Kyle Ohman
SF Anthony Smith
F Tyler Baker
PF Carter McMasters

Curry would get the majority of the backup minutes at the 1.
Jeremy Anderson and Brolin Floyd will get the rest of the time at the 2.
Tyler would play some 3 along with Sammy Jackson.
The other 2 spots leaves alot up in the air, Tyler and Carter will see the most time, with Soup as the primary backup. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jackson get some time here either.

I think Mike Lewis is redshirted, and I'm not sure about Austin Smith. If he's good enough to get time at the 4 or 5, then he plays, if not he's redshirted.

Without Austin playing, that puts us at 10 deep, a huge improvement from this year.

Did you mean Johnny Stephene rather than James Spencer?

You're right dox, I did leave him out. I just pasted the roster online and altered it from there. OK so give the last scholly to Stephene and Spencer remains a walkon. Those 2 are so confusing as Spencer wears Stephene's jersey for some reason.

heck - let's drop everyone and start over:)

He wears Stephene's jersey because the Nike shipment with Spencer's jersey still has yet to arrive.

Get Ritch on the phone with his Nike BFF and get that bad boy fedexed

Do we know Stephene is going to be here next year?

Unless something strange happens, he will be. I don't see why he'd be here this year not playing and not be here next year when he can play.

And let's not forget Anthony's brother from another mother in Plano since I'm not seeing his name much on the football scene here in Texas.

Well if Stephene and Kevin Smith both are here next year, we have a major dilemna on our hands with schollys.

We would have to dump 4 current players.

I don't think Kyle will get a scholarship. I love the kid, and he's great, but I don't think he'll get a scholarship. The coaches have probably talked to him about it and all of that. I see him as a Wes Miller (UNC) type player who earns the scholarship but gives it back to bring in other players to make the team better.

I don't see how we can ask Kyle to exclusively be the 6th man, and not reward him with a scholarship. He deserves it.

Also, can't we work out a deal with Rocco to get Smith a football scholarship?

Are we even trying to get Smith for football?

somebody posted him in the football forum, but I'm guessing we didn't offer him. But if he signs with our bball team, we have to get rid of someone. I guess Ohman doesn't get it in that case. Or maybe BJ or Tyler get the boot, although that doesn't seem like a particularly good ida.
